First is the location , and the fact that the car drives right upto the hotel and has parking . It’s only a 5 mins walk to the mall road

Great location, Good view from the rooms with proximity to the Mall Road !
The deluxe rooms with garden view had only an artificial garden without any external view which is disappointing!

spacious room, old world charm ande decor. creaking wooden floors (if that appeals to you). Bed was comfortable and linen clean. Staff was Very Helpful and welcoming, especially the gentleman on the reception desk. Excellent food at reasonable rates. There is a front and a back garden. My room had a view only of some pine/fir trees. I was told some rooms have mountain view.
If you like to live in a heritage property, which still retains some old world charm, in the old part of the city and experience the real life of ordinary people of the city at moderate charges, this is the place for you, subject of course to the shortcomings
There was no towel rail, no hand towel in the toilet and no hangers in the cupboard (minor things which one can do without and which the management will provide if they read this reviews). There was no AC or fan though the staff said they provide pedestal fans during summer. About AC one should not complain considering the moderate charges, though it may be of interest if you intend to live there in May/June which can be quite hot even in Shimla.
The hotel is a bit far from city centre and Mall Road, though you can take a taxi for about three hundred rupees. The taxi drivers in Shimla, in general, are very nice, helpful and self disciplined and unlike in many other places don’t have a tendency to overcharge
