The location was on the European side of Istanbul in the ’old town’ and breakfast was included with a wide variety and delicious. It was very central by walking to the main top 10 highlights of Istanbul ..Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Guilane Park and Grand Bazaar …to name a few . The rooms were exceptionally clean and the reception staff were there 24/7. They spoke good English and were very friendly and helpful. Every time we asked them for advice….they were spot on and I found a place for a good manicure, an excellent Turkish bath, and a nearby mini mart with cheap prices. A bonus was the roof top area to relax and take in the stunning view of the Marmara Sea. I could not recommend this hotel more highly!!
This hotel is built on the ruins of the Boukoleon Palace which was built in the 5th Century, and although we read the plaque that was in the breakfast area, we didn’t realise this for a few days as the lights under the floor to showcase these ruins were not turned on in the morning for breakfast. Please turn on these lights.
