We had the best time staying at Habarana Tree House. Don't hesitate to book!
We stayed in 'Inn on a Tree' which was beautiful, spacious, spotlessly clean and lots of fun! Very comfortable but also adventurous, nestled in the trees amongst the wildlife! We absolutely loved it!
The pool is beautiful, perfect to cool off in after activities. The atmosphere is very relaxed and peaceful, you really feel like you are in the jungle although it is in easy walking distance of Habarana town. Location is fantastic.
We chose to eat at Mutu Village each night as they offer a Sri Lankan set meal cooked by local ladies from the village. You can request this earlier in the day so they can prepare it for you! It was absolutely amazing! The portions were very generous and the food was absolutely delicious. Each evening they have a different meal. We really enjoyed the food and dining experience at Mutu Village. Excellent service, lovely staff, and the food was really delicious. Some of the very best we experienced in the whole of our trip. Breakfasts were also an absolute treat! Delicious and plentiful, traditional Sri Lankan fresh baked items, fresh fruit, made to order egg hoppers! Absolutely gorgeous!
You can book excursions through Mutu Village. We booked the Jeep Safari in Minneriya. This was AMAZING! We must have seen about 200 Elephants. Incredible.
We are so grateful to all the help and advice Same (Manager) gave us during our stay. He organised transport for us with the most amazing driver called Deshan. PLEASE ASK FOR DESHAN IF YOU NEED A DRIVER.
Same and Deshan also saved us when we had a problem later on in our trip with a taxi we had prebooked from the UK. We are so grateful! Oyata Bohemia Stuthi! They are amazing people.
We loved meeting everyone here, it was a highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka.

The location in the middle of the "jungle" is super nice. Personel was very friendly and helpful. The outdoor bathroom and shower is a highlight as well as the pool area. Self made dinner buffet and breakfast was excellent.
We booked 4 nights at Mutu and got a room, which was not proberly cleaned, had mice shit on the racks and holes in the mosqito nets. After complaining to the staff we got immediately moved to two 2 bedrooms, which was very nice of the staff. Otherwise, we would have left the place. We also had all other kind of animals around and in the rooms, which you kind of have to accept, when you book there. Considering the other places, we stays in our 3 weeks vacation (9 different ones), this was amongst the not so good price value places. Bit of a mixed bag, as the place is special and nice, but the dirt and mice shit was kind of ruining it for us.
