A very special place in a lovely location
There were lots of little flies, however the hotel vacuumed them up very promptly

A beautiful building in a spectacular setting by the lake. The rooms are modern, well finished and spotlessly clean, and the pet policy is a genuine plus and one of the reasons we chose the hotel. Service was friendly throughout. The potential here is obvious.
The main issue is that everything is organised by the hotel, so guests have little say in where they sit. On hot days there is essentially no shade to move to. What is presented as a garden is a terrace with artificial grass, with limited seating and parts closed off. There is no quiet, intimate corner anywhere.
The outdoor seating on -1 is hard fixed benches, closer to public park furniture than to a five-star hotel. The seating on -3 is noticeably better, which only underlines the contrast. Only one restaurant open in mid-August peak season is also hard to justify at this price point.
Depending on the wind, kitchen fumes drift across the terraces and into the rooms. At any price point that is a design failure.
Sound insulation is a further weakness. Conversations carry between rooms, as do pets. On substance a standard room sits closer to a good Mercure with a bit more space than to a 9.6 property.

Silence and comfort.
Food menu is quite limited in Botanika restaurant, but good selection of drinks. Room service is without table (only trolley shelves for meals): impossible to eat if you have a family, because nowhere to put plates. You can compare with Imperial Hotel in Vienna for the same money per night.
