Traditional dinner was a real treat well worth it ,breakfast is not your standard western breaky but you go knowing that ,hot tub on your belcony the best also free yes free soft drinks beer and spirits a short walk to town and the train
Needed better pillows were old

The location was 11 min walk from the Hakone train station. The walk was lovely and picturesque. The best part was the private onsen on the balcony among the beautiful view of forest and stream outside. It was majestic. The room was spotless with toilet room and shower room. Pajamas provided and slippers for the room plus bathroom slippers. The room was exceptional and the total ambiance of the hotel was magical. The breakfast and dinner was included and they were both incredible with so many courses and delicious. As you check in, there are snacks and drinks laid out on the way to the elevator. I chose a matcha latte and a sweet. Delicious. Snacks and water also provided in the room. I was in heaven and didn't want to leave. It was a great value for the price. I would've paid double for the experience.
The public bath was dark but you could see moldy ceiling . But had beautiful private onsen in room

Hotel and room were very outdated. We didnt't enjoy the restaruant either. It may well be excellent for locals but for us the food was too 'difficult' to handle. We barley touched the breakfast courses
