Beautiful place to stay in the heart of Kyoto

My K house is one of the favourite place i have stayed on this trip. The room was massive, had a good size balcony to hang my laundry. The property is a short walk from the main attractions. Would highly recommend staying and would come back again.

The best

Fantastic location, in such a pretty area and well connected to different public transport options. The rooms were extremely comfortable and spacious. Excellent air conditioning. Alex at the front desk was absolutely sensational, so kind and helpful.

Traditional Ryokan Vibe with all the Modern Luxuries

The property was designed like a traditional ryokan but with all of the comforts of a modern hotel. The rooms were exceptionally clean and came equipped with all amenities (washing machine, slippers, yukatas to wear inside). The bathroom and shower were separate which is an absolutely genius design. AC worked wonderfully to beat the hot September weather. Finally, it was very quiet at night as we were tucked away in some back streets, while still being only an 8-10 minute walk from all the attractions. I would definitely stay here again

Everything was great. We did have to check in at another location (less than 2 minute walk away) but the instructions were clearly printed on the door and easy to follow. We also were able to check in early which was very convenient

Superb

Perfect location, nearby great restaurants and the canal. It was just a short stroll by the beautiful river to historic, bustling Gion! Room had a small verandah looking out over rooftops and the mountains in the distance. We were even able to see the fires lit during the yearly Obon festival in August! It was so great to have a small kitchen, which we utilised a lot. The beds were super comfy and there was a block out blind behind the screens on the doors, so the light didn't come in too much in the morning, and it was dark at night.

This is a very personal thing, I hate noisy air-conditioners and this one was a bit noisy (you couldn't switch the wind off), but I got used to it. The washing machine was great to have but it was also a dryer, which didn't dry the clothes very well and took forever.

It was such a good value and the location could not be better. We loved the space, and having a washer/dryer in the room was very convenient. It was quiet, comfortable, and had amazing views. We will definitely be staying here again. We stayed at an expensive ryokan in Kyoto for a few days, and we kept saying how we wished we just stayed at My K House for our entire time. The value can't be beat.

the only negative thing was that we had to walk a few blocks away to check in, and after a full day of traveling we would have preferred to go straight to our room.

Overall nice authentic room.

Very nice authentic room. Comfortable beds. Great atmosphere, clean and large room. Bath and washing machine available. Also very nice and helpful staff.

Fun location but a bit far from the subway/ busstop (10 min). The entrance is through a bar. A couple of nights there was a (deep fry) food smell in the room. There is no reception in the building, it's in another building (however close). Therefore you need to communicate through message which is not always answered immediately. Overall okay and nice room.

Must stay here when you're in Kyoto!

The entire apartment, spacious. Especially room with Japanese style, comfortable and cozy. Washing machine+dryer is a bonus! Quite place. Balcony.

Perfect place on a quiet street!

The room was very nice and simple. it was a bit cold in the hall and bathroom area, but the heat in the room worked very well. Mr. Nakamura and Natsume made my daughters birthday a wonderful celebration! thank you so much!

Lovely hotel in a great location

We loved our stay here! The location is fantastic - quiet but with lots of restaurants and bars nearby. The staff were very friendly and the room was spotless. Also, having a balcony was a really nice bonus!

Back for a third visit

I love this hotel, very convenient as many buses are only 2 mins away. One street back from the river and lots of restaurants. Temples are within walking distance. Each room has a balcony which is wonderful to sit out and relax after a busy day sightseeing. Their is a kitchen and a washing machine in each room. The rooms are tatami - but you have beds to sleep on. Everything is spotless. The bar is great fun.

Good location and price.

The location was really good. Had a nice little kitchen. The bed was comfy. The front desk staff was very friendly.

The lobby had a bar that smelled like cigarette smoke. The washer dryer was nice to have but took a long time to wash and dry and the clothes didn’t dry all the way.

Fabulous Boutique Hotel

Minutes from the riverside and many restaurants. Great lobby bar, with many types of whiskey. My room was spacious and had a great balcony.

Japanese style small hotel but lack of amenities and comfort.

This small hotel of 7 rooms is just a 10 minute walk from Gion area, in a quiet street with some small restaurants and bars. The rooms are soundproof and the balcony on each room is a real plus. Staff is friendly but hardly speak English. Cleaning is perfect. Typical Japanese style.

Only the upper floors have nice views, the lower floors just look out to a garage and another ugly building. No chair or desk in the room. Breakfast buns and croissants are bought at a supermarket, not fresh, too bad! Light in room could be much more cozy, perhaps add some lamps? WiFi really slow connection, please upgrade. The hight of the doors and passage is less than 2 meters, so when you are tall it is not convenient at all. No international programs or radiostations at TV.
