Good location for walking the Peddars Way, friendly and helpful staff, excellent evening meal. We also appreciated the DIY breakfast option in the room, which meant we could make an early start the following morning.

The staff were friendly and helpful; everything was smart and clean; the room was well supplied, with a continental breakfast option in the fridge, and the food was excellent. Although the cooked breakfast option isn't included in the room rate, and £10.00 is possibly a bit more than some places charge, it is good value. The full English is big! I cycle 55 miles home afterards, and I didn't need anything else all the way!
Last year, I said I felt there is an over-dependence on emails.. It was better for me this time because I did receive the email when I was told I would. I take on board that, on arrival, it's more convenient to go straight to your room and not have to wait at the reception, which is effectively the bar. Nevertheless, you do get rather bombarded with emails, making it difficult to keep up mwith them, and while travelling it might be difficult to be asble to read them. I still think it should be limited to those who expect to arrive when the reception is closed.
