Beautiful gardens and settings. Very big room.. Great breakfast (taste and aelection). Very tasty dinner.
No AC in the room. Ants in the room (possibly due to kitchenette in room). No milk or creamer as part of the tea/coffee facilities - told specifically that this is not offered!

It is in a beautiful setting. The grounds themselves are a botanical garden. And the breakfast is very nicely done. The staff was very friendly and professional.
The beautiful surroundings could not make up for the disappointing room experience . My patio door was stuck, my refrigerator wasn’t working well. Even with the fan in the room, it was still warm. The spa area is very spacious, but also needs a complete renovation and lastly, most of the tours operate from Funchal. I rented a car and trying to get into and out of the parking lot is very dicey, but also a lot of the tours will not pick you up at this hotel. In your room, you have one all purpose, hair shampoo, body cleanser, conditioner, and it looks like a half used old plastic shampoo bottle. More something I expected at a low budget motel. Also, the room had a insta hot water pot, instant decaf coffee, tea, no sugars, no cream, very low quality.

The coffee at breakfast is an outrage - especially considering the price. It should be real ground beans, not instant.
The shower head is appalling - could have expected it 30 years ago in a bad hotel - unforgiveable here.
