We expected an older building and its peculiarities and there were many cool aspects. (We like older rather than newer things in general.) The elevator situation was very amusing, the breakfast was excellent and the room amenities were quite adequate. The room size was amazing! The location was super for Colosseum, Forum and many old, fascinating churches/buildings.
We were on the top floor that had rooms but above us was the floor for housecleaning. It took us awhile to figure out that the noises we were hearing, very early in the day and late into the night, were carts being rolled around and things being placed loudly on the floor. Then, the next morning, our sink stopper broke and the sink couldn't drain.
