The location- Amoudara has everything and the city vibe in Heraklion is just a bus/taxi drive away.
I loved the peaceful setting and the pool set in beautiful gardens.Once you walk through the hotel doors,it is an oasis of calm.It felt more 'Greek' than some of the 5 star hotel chains.
The staff is exceptional: polite,helpful and ready to recommend and advise on local facilities and places to visit.Definitely worth another visit.

The location. Very close to the beach, in a busy area but still not too crowded. With restaurants and bars closer to the hotel.
The swimming pool was nice, and the area surrounded with trees and bushes.
It was very clean.
The staff was very polite and helpful. We were able to check out later on the day because our flight was in the evening, and on one of the warmest days, that was very kind of them.
The first night we arrived the room was looking very old, with cracks on the wall and a tiny shower. We asked to be changed to another room, which was better. The rooms in general were very modest and the beds very hard, with one too soft pillow.
The breakfast was not so varied after all. That could improve.
The hotel in general looks a bit shabby and old. The water pipes sometimes not working properly. The shower pressure unstable, sometimes too cold, sometimes too hot.
