Lovely, cosy, welcoming!

The staff! So kind, nice and accommodating. After walking the camino during the heat wave I was welcomed with a freaking glass of cold water. so thoughtful. As I don’t speak the local language they even assisted with ordering dinner over the phone from a local restaurant. If you’re booking the dorm room, there are no bunk beds, which is refreshingly amazing as most venues want to cram as many people in as possible!

A slight minor inconvenience is that it’s a few km walk into town if you want to get into town. But you accept that when you make the booking as you can see it’s location on the map. I would stay here again!

Do NOT recommend!!

The staff were really nice.

Where do I start? I booked this place because it has a pool and a hot tub. On arrival, I was told that the pool requires a reservation, and of course there aren't any available while I'm there. Nowhere on the Booking website or the hotel's website does it mention that a reservation is required for the pool--IN SUMMER, when it's 95°F/35°C outside! Second, the listing on Booking's website says the nearest beach is 450m away. This is true only if you can fly or care to scale a fence and then throw yourself off a cliff to get there. In fact, the beach is triple that distance at 1.3km. Third, it was so loud. I heard every door open and close, every footstep, and I could hear my upstairs neighbors cough, pee, fart, and do the horizontal monkey dance twice at night and once in the morning! I cannot NOT recommend this place enough. The ONLY reason I didn't rate it lower is because the staff was so nice.

Some of the staff when we arrived were friendly and helpful.

The room was very noisy, there wasn't any air conditioning as conditioning as advertised. Expected better for the price. The room wasn't very clean. After 🚿 the water 💧 remained in the shower 🚿 for a long time.

Is ok for a short stance, I was looking for something in the area.But not looking forward to go back

The housekeeper staff was so friendly and changed the glass as asked since it was not clean.

I booked this hotel for me, my partner and two kids (a baby and 8 years old). It turned that my 8yrs old boy was not in the booking and asked me extra money to give us a “bigger” room. It was also stated that the spa and pool where included just to find out that the jacuzzi had to be paid separately and the pool was by booking only. Make sure that the hotel give you the enter code to get through the door. Knocked for more than 20 minutes out until a huésped let me in , as they did not tell us anything about a code to get through. The services stated online where not the same when in there.

Poorly built bathroom with bad drainage in the shower and no ventilation. The whole lower floor has a strong musty smell. Not secure. The exterior doors are open all day, so if you store your bags with the front desk, anyone could come through. My bag was definitely rifled through. (Nothing was taken--I didn't leave any valuables.) There seemed to be 6+ different people working there, but the front desk usually was not staffed. Overall just kind of disorganized and the vibes were off... Honestly I would give a higher rating if the price matched the value. But I definitely paid way too much for this level of accomodation.

Lovely oasis outside of Castro!

The hostess is a wonderful human. She takes special care as she designed and built the Pension herself! On my Camino Norte, I wanted a place away from the center of town, and this was a wonderful oasis. So many thanks for a memorable visit to Castro Urdiales!

I can't wait to go here again

I loved the welcoming atmosphere and the cosy but calm interior decoration. The staff was super friendly and went far beyond the call of duty to make my stay memorable.

The location was for me as a hiker a bit far from the centre and there were very few shops and restaurants in the area. but it is very close to breathtaking cliffs.

the house is made from wood. near the camino!! Has a nice cold pool to refresh after a long walk. There is a little supermarket and a pharmacy nearby walk 2 minutes have a great view over the bay and harbour super friendly people there

a funky hotel in a new development neighborhood - 400m down a path to the rocky beach which was great. staff so kind and

staff were kind, helpful, friendly. room charming beneath the eaves.

it was not in the town and no food nearby so had to order for delivery and that food was not great.

No lock on door. Anybody can enter from the street. No area to relax with other pilgrims.

There were single beds and well spaced apart.

The room for pilgrims was a converted garage or a basement, with a fridge, kettle and microwave. It’s a completely separate entrance to the main building. There was no area to sit and chat to others. There was no lock on the door so anybody could enter the room from the street outside.

Nice house with some character and a bit of charm, not far from any interesting point around

The character of the house, the calm around and the nice touch of personality in decoration that gives the place its charm, despite being located a bit apart from the main interesting points of the surroundings

There is nothing to complain about if you accept not being in town nor completely isolated. The place is nice and peaceful and it si not really far from any interesting point around
