Destino Five Ibiza - 5-Star Grand Luxe Resort - Free Entrance to Pacha Club

The location is beautiful, with lovely views, and the hotel has a very nice overall setting. Some members of staff were genuinely excellent, especially the reception team and the lady assigning tables at breakfast, who was always very kind, professional and helpful. The housekeeping team also deserves a special mention — the cleaners are doing a great job and our room was always cleaned very well.

Considering Destino is marketed as a 5-star luxury hotel and is very expensive, I personally felt the experience was closer to a good 4-star hotel. The location and views are beautiful, and some staff were excellent, but overall the level of service, maintenance and attention to detail did not match the price. There seemed to be too many seasonal staff constantly moving around the resort, often driving buggies through guest areas, which made it difficult to simply walk around and relax. Maintenance was also happening during the day, with outdoor areas needing more attention and hoses sometimes left across walkways. We also witnessed staff arguing in front of guests. At breakfast, when there were not enough tables, the lady organising seating kindly suggested we sit at the bar, but the bar staff member became visibly annoyed and an argument started in front of everyone. Guests were looking at each other wondering what was going on. This is not what you expect in a 5-star hotel. The Pacha shop is a nice idea, but the service was disappointing. We asked for another T-shirt size while the staff member was scrolling on his phone and simply got, “No, we don’t have it.” In a luxury hotel, I would expect a more welcoming and helpful approach. Breakfast also felt below 5-star standard, especially the self-service coffee machine and rushed atmosphere. Our room was very humid, with a strong damp/mould-like smell whenever we entered, and we also had a leaking toilet. Overall, Destino has a beautiful setting and potential, but better staff training, maintenance and attention to detail are needed to truly deliver a luxury 5-star experience.

For a 5 star hotel I just expected more, it was average, rooms were small, no point getting a twin room because the beds don’t have enough room to be apart, no Dyson or decent hair driers in the bathrooms, no where to properly get ready, ants in the room
