We were very happy with our stay at the Marmara Hotel. The price-location ratio is excellent: the Danube and Parliament are both about a 10-minute walk away, and Nyugati station is just around the corner, with excellent metro, tram and bus connections to other parts of Budapest. There are also plenty of restaurants, cafés, bakeries, supermarkets and shops nearby.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and dealt with any requests in a very uncomplicated way.
Our rooms were clean, quiet and a good size. Rooms facing the courtyard don't offer much of a view but are very quiet; rooms facing the street have a more interesting view with slightly more outside noise. The hotel itself is not noisy or poorly soundproofed. The room temperature was very comfortable and easy to adjust, and the shower had excellent water pressure.
Overall, a very good hotel in an excellent location, with particularly friendly staff. We would happily stay here again.
Some of the furniture is a little dated, but fine overall. Breakfast was adequate for starting the day, although a little more fresh fruit would have been nice.

Great location, spacious and quiet room. And we could check in early which was particularly nice as we had come off a night train and needed to freshen up.
We needed to leave the following day by train and the hotel is very close to the station.

Location, very close to main attractions. Mall is close walk next to the train station.
Staff for day time was v good and helpful.
Rooms need to improve. Terrible mattress, uneven. Shower fittings not in good condition.

It’s a good location, and breakfast was alright. Better than some places I’ve been
Rooms could have been cleaner for my preference. When I landed there was no one by the reception in the late morning so I had to come back.
