I recently spent 3 wonderful nights at the Royal Cocoon, and it was an absolutely memorable experience from start to finish.
The property itself is gorgeous and perfectly located, making it an ideal retreat.
However, what truly elevates Royal Cocoon is its extraordinary team. The staff here define genuine hospitality. They are incredibly kind, attentive, and deeply caring. From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel right at home. Every interaction was filled with authentic warmth, and no request was ever too big or too small.
Big shoutout to Raminda, who really went above and beyond. He checked in on me throughout my stay. That kind of care is hard to find and it made a huge difference to how relaxed and welcomed we felt. The team is so dedicated to ensuring their guests feel genuinely looked after.
The dining experience was another major highlight. The food was delicious, but what really stood out was the incredible food presentation. It was commendable.
Royal Cocoon is a magnificent property made extraordinary by its people. Thank you to the entire team, especially Raminda, for such impeccable service and a delightful stay. I cannot wait to return!

Great chef and the location has most things in walking distance. The best part for me was the bed, after so many bad experiences while traveling here in Sri Lanka, for the first time I had a proper (sized) bed. The breakfast and setting just made the whole experience complete. Would definitely recommend.

Friendly staff and tasty breakfast. but the place itself need some proper remodeling. We had nice hot water in the shower and the was strong once it start running.
The biggest issue we had was the bed and the mattress. It was old, extremely soft and used way too many times. Me and my wife dont usually have trouble falling asleep but here we stayed up for a long time.
We had rain and quiet a strong wind during our stay and the room was cold, the wind was getting inside through the holes around the windows and doors, we had to use the provided heater to make it a bit warm inside. The walls looked a bit wet too.

The garden is magnificent, the staff are so kind and helpful, the location is excellent
The hotel lives in a past of grandeur, but now needs a good refresh. Even small improvements like new bed linen, new towels, new curtains would make the difference, and justify the 5 stars this establishment is boasting. Thanks to the manager for having listened to me on these points.
