About this house rental
Situated in South Haven, this lovely house for $275 per night is a great option for your next trip. WEEKLY rentals only mid June to Labor Day. Hey, pick this house! 'Summerwood Cottage' is located on a quiet street just 2 1/2 blocks from Lake Michigan's Oak Street Beach in South Haven. This newer house with a walk-out basement has been recently redecorated and has a rear deck and yard facing a wooded area. All amenities including Wifi included. Get the best of both worlds with a private, wooded backyard and be within walking distance of the beach and downtown! Note: We can only accommodate WEEKLY RENTALS ONLY June 15 to Labor Day. Sorry no pets. This Wifi equipped cozy and comfortable home boasts a convenient floor plan which can accommodate either individual families or multiple families. With a total of 2100 square feet, the main floor includes the following: eat-in kitchen, master bedroom (queen bed), master bathroom (shower), bedroom 2 (queen bed), bedroom 3 (two sets of bunkbeds), bathroom 2 (tub and shower), living room (TV w/VCR/DVD and cable), deck overlooking backyard. Downstairs 1 bedroom (queen bed) with a sleeper sofa for extra visitors in the recreation room. The lower level includes: family Rec room (fieldstone gas fireplace, Smart TV, foosball table, queen size sleeper sofa and patio doors), bedroom 4 (queen bed), bathroom 3 (shower), and laundry room (washer and dryer). The home also includes use of an attached garage with EV level 2 charger. In the backyard you can enjoy the trees and the privacy. The upper level includes an elevated deck with a barbecue grill while the lower level includes a patio. Amenities: We offer all of the amenities of home. The kitchen is fully equipped with all major appliances (stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher) and well as small appliances (blender, coffee maker, toaster). It is also stocked with silverware, everyday china, cookware and utensils. We also stock everything from paper products to dish soap. The bathrooms are stocked with towels as well as paper products and soap. We do ask that you provide your own beach towels, although some are available. The bedrooms are comfortably furnished including bed linens. General amenities include: WIFI Internet access, fire pit, air conditioning, laundry, TV (Smart TV, streaming channels only!), VCR/DVD players, local telephone service, board games, books to borrow, foosball table, children's toys, gas fireplace, gas barbecue grill, washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, outdoor shower, stereo, and anything else we pick up along the way that looks handy. Activities: While definitely and beach/boat town, South Haven is a four season vacation destination with activities including agriculture (strawberry & blueberry picking, etc.), antiquing, art, auto racing, biking, boating & cruises, dining, fall color tours, festivals, fishing, go-carts, golf, hiking, museums, paint-ball, parks, wineries, and winter activities such as skiing (downhill or cross-country, skating and snowmobiling. Area: South Haven is centrally located to many major cities which makes traveling easy. It is 2 hours from Chicago, 3 hours from Detroit, 1 hour from South Bend, and 1 hour from Grand Rapids. Summerwood Cottage is located on the North side just off of North Shore Drive which has several beach access points. We are conveniently located just minutes from gorgeous and clean beaches, unique shops, and wonderful restaurants. WEEKLY rentals only mid June to Labor Day.

Property was in a great location. Close to beach and downtown. We were pleasantly surprised that the property had bike for us to use. Very enjoyable and we would stay again!

The house was set up well for multiple people. We had plenty of room for everyone and the kids had fun. We enjoyed sitting on the deck out back and watching the the squirrels and deer. It was a very peaceful area.

House was in a lovely neighborhood with walkable beaches. It had a lovely wooded backyard with a firepit that unfortunately wasn't able to be used because it was full of big logs and debri all around it. House definitely needs some updating. Basement was very spacious with bed and bathroom. Shower in basement barely worked. Window sills all full of dirt,cobwebs..Only 1 kitchen towel. Discussed all with host who was apologetic. He said he would take care of issues and gave us a partial refund.

Enjoyed our stay. Setup in the upstairs main room could have been done differently so that you could have had more comfortable seating to visit and hang out.We drove most days to the beach because of having little ones along. Beach, water, and weather were perfect!

The place was nice but my sister and friend did have a few issues. We had brought food to cook the first night on the BBQ and that didn't work and the oven also didn't work. I called the owner and the management company and didn't receive a reply until 3pm the next day. The BBQ tank was replaced immediately and he did advise that the mgt. company didn't advise him that the oven was broke so someone came and fixed that the next day. The place was clean but the bathroom between the two bedrooms the water drains very slow. We only needed the air the last two nights but even with the bedroom doors open it didn't circulate very well.

We had an amazing stay in South Haven! The house is located in a peaceful neighborhood close to the beaches and the downtown area. The house was very clean. We had no issues checking in or out.

My wife and I went with 3 other couples and the place was perfect. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. It was within walking distance for the Ice Festival in downtown.

This house has a nice open layout, and a large dining table upstairs to feed crowds and play board games :)
The neighborhood is quiet, and a short walk to both the marina in one direction and Oak Beach in the other.
The only drawback we found was that the house could use some home improvements. The kitchen needs updating and it would be great if the beds were bigger - they felt more like doubles instead of queens (?). Otherwise, it's a nice piece of property.

We had a great time at Summerwood Cottage. We’ve rented from Mark twice previously, so we knew what to expect. He is attentive to your needs and available if you need him. Everything you might need for a getaway with the grandkids is there. We’ll be there again next summer!

We did much of our own cooking and found there were several things we would of liked to had in the kitchen.
We also found the A/C difficult to regulate. We are probably spoiled with central air

Very comfortable and clean place to stay. Had a great time. Only negative is the fire pit is near the woods in the back so more mosquitoes will be around the fire.

We played some PacMan, Galaga and Foosball, watched movies and enoyed the fireplace. It was truly a wonderful time spent together under on roof. We also did some shopping downtown SHaven and even took in a movie a Michigan Theater.

Family met in South Haven for a quick Christmas. The house was clean. The beds were super comfortable and having 3 bathrooms is a bonus. The kitchen was really well stocked. The bonus and most convenient room to congregate in, was downstairs. We played games and puzzled. Ms. Pacman is addicting!

Pleasant Visit

Great location, lots of amenities
Summerwood Cottage provided plenty of room for our family of seven. It was clean, well stocked, and the host was very prompt with responses and communication. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Oak St. beach, has a beautiful wooded area in back, and was well stocked with paper products/soap/ and many extras. We stayed during a warm spell in August and, even though it is air-conditioned, we needed fans in each of the bedrooms to stay cool.
