About this house rental

Located in Lamoine, this charming house for $180 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Enjoy this beautiful 1990 constructed post and beam home nestled in the woods on a private five acre retreat. This home has cathedral ceilings, hardwood floors throughout, an open floor plan with lots of windows. The first floor bedroom has a queen-size bed and views through the woods to the water. There is a half-bath on the first floor. Walk upstairs to a private, spacious loft with two twin beds and a full bathroom. Watch the change of the water on this tidal cove (11 ft tidal change). Swim at high tide off granite ledges and enjoy low tide walks along the shoreline. Your stay includes all bed linens and bath towels. It is important to arrive at your vacation rental without any huge surprises, so let me tell you a bit more about the place. The house is 1200 square feet, located 1/2 mile down a dirt road. You cannot see another house from our house. There is a washer/dryer but not a dishwasher. There is a DVD/VHS player but no regular television stations. There is wifi internet connection at the house. There is a forced hot air Rinnai heater, as well as a woodstove. The water is only 120 feet away from the deck. At high tide there is 11 feet of water, and at low tide there are mudflats. The town of Ellsworth is 6 miles away and has 2 large grocery stores, shopping, movies, and restaurants. Our rentals run Saturday to Saturday. We have a limit of 4 people sleeping at the house, and we do not allow pets. Acadia National Park is a treasure to explore. The Schoodic Peninsula area of Acadia is more remote, less traveled, yet equally as spectacular as the Mount Desert Island area. This rental house is a 30 minute drive from each of these Acadia National Park locations.

We loved our stay here. We spent most of our time in Acadia. The location to the park was convenient. The house was secluded, and the view of the water was nice. We had lunch out, and took advantage of the kitchen, and made dinner at the house. It was nice to have access to the washer and dryer. The house was even nicer than I anticipated. We enjoyed the wood burning stove. We also watched several of the DVD’s they had available. We also rented one from the red box at the grocery store. The house was very clean, and well stocked with anything you would need. I would recommend it to anyone coming to the area. We would love to return, and stay here again.

Wonderful location, very peaceful and quiet, the deer were a joy to watch. Cathy and Rick were wonderful, they prepared us ahead of time in the event the power went out due to the storm, overall great communication. The location is perfect, it’s right in between MDI (Acadia/Bar Harbor) and Scoodic, do not overlook Scoodic and Winter Harbor. Highly recommend and will be back. Thank you, Dave & Kat

We arrived at our home when hurricane Lee was threatening Maine. Our host was concerned and gave us the option of coming back another time. We opted to ride it out and in this case it turned out to be the best option. The house is a gem. We lost power for a little bit but our host had water and wood for the fireplace ready for us. We loved the location. We were able to get to Acadia and Schoodic relatively easy. We also went on lobster boat tour and a kayak tour, which was also incredible. There are many little coastal towns in the area. Do remember that they don’t have TV. So make sure you bring a book or just enjoy watching the deer run out in front of the house next to the water. This house is close to Ellsworth so we were able to go out to eat or buy groceries easily. Would definitely recommend this property to others.

Our family (including kids ages 10 and 15) usually camps but decided to treat ourselves and upgrade our accommodations when we visited the Acadia region. This spot was perfect for us -- all the amenities we needed to be comfortable and a location that was a perfect jumping off point for exploring the area. We spent several days combing through Acadia National Park and also ventured further inland. Each day, we were happy to return home and relax on the deck or read and play games inside. After the hustle and bustle of the park and Bar Harbor, we appreciated the peaceful setting and relative quiet of this property. We hope to visit Acadia again in the coming years and wouldn't hesitate to return to this property, with our without our kids.

We were thrilled with the comfortable and beautiful home and the wooded setting on the scenic tidal cove! Cloudy, foggy, and rainy weather didn't dampen our restful and active stay whatsoever. We kayaked, from the property, hiked trails, and appreciated the easy access to area parks, shopping and restaurants. Plenty of water birds to watch at the cove, and a pair of deer crossing the mud flats at low tide. The welcome goody baske, fresh flowers, books, games, and movies were enjoyed. Washer and dryer were convenient to have. Sat on deck during when the weather cooperated, cooked steak on charcoal grill, and utilized woodstove on a chilly evening. Would've loved more time! Thank you for the spectacular experience, Cathy and Rick! Steve
