Good couple of days in Boston

Nice spacious apartment, with nice coffee and facilities. The location was good and easy to get into the hub where bars, restaurants, and park is. There is Washing machine facilities outside of the room which is not on the facilities of the room. This would have been nice to know.

The bed! The mattress was fine, but that steel frame needs to be changed. Every time one of you turns around during the night, the other one wakes up due to the horrendous squeaking of the steel frame.

Sonder - the property management company to avoid if you want a personalised experience.

The apartment looked good online and we booked it for the central location in Beacon Hill, Boston. The location was indeed excellent. Sadly, this was the only positive about our experience.

Pretty much everything could have been better. First, we were charged for the booking immediately after it was made (in contrast to most booking.com ones where a booking is simply secured against a credit card). Next there were hidden charges (for taxes and a cleaning fee) not indicated on the booking (so, quite misleading). Then were were spammed with at least 50 emails from Sonder, the property management company, about checking in (this started 4 months before we were due to check in...). I requested an early check-in (1h earlier), and 4 months later still had not received a response from Sonder. On arrival the passcode did not work, so we could not get into the property, requiring us to make various international phone calls to get through (and get into the apartment). The internet did not work for 2 of the 3 days we were there. When I requested a late check-out (1-2h), the request was denied (even though we were told by a staff member that there was not another booking for the same day)...Overall, a highly disappointing experience and one I would not recommend to anyone! Stay away from Sonder, a faceless organisation clearly not responsive to the needs of their guests.

Grand building in excellent location

-Beautiful apartment in a historic brownstone with grand architectural features such as fire places and high ceiling height -excellent location for many sights -very well equipped kitchen unit -very comfy mattresses

there was a wardrobe gor hanging clothes but a distinct absence of drawer space (despite space for a chest of drawers in either bedroom or anti-room) Also no storage space in the bathroom, a shelf could easily be fitted above the sink ( I had to put my make up on the fireplace mantle in the sitting room!)

I do no recommend unless it is in summer.

It was freezing in the room. There was no heater except for two air conditioners, which were obviously not strong enough. I asked for two more blankets, but this did not really help.

Pleasant

The location is very good. It is close to the downtown are and parks. All within walking distance.

No lift. When you have heavy luggage, it can be a problem. On on site services after normal working hours. The services requested can only be met one day after.

Perfect location but start training for the stairs ;-)

The location was great, a brownstone in Beacon Hill, central yet quiet. The property has a small courtyard at the back, with seating, which is a hidden asset for those who like to get a little air in the heart of the city.

The building is a beautiful Boston Brownstone, but the interior is showing its age a little. The apartments are on four floors, reached only by an ornate central staircase. My 60-year-old wife and I arrived from a transatlantic flight, with 30kg (70 lbs) of luggage each, to find our apartment was on the top (4th) floor! It would probably be wise to align your apartment booking with your fitness level! The laundry facilities on the ground floor are effective and inexpensive but you will need to find 16 quarters to wash and dry one load! Given our increasingly cashless society, coin operation seems a little dated. Besides, when compared to the rental cost, I imagine Sonder could afford to make the $4 charge complimentary, given the small risk of a guest seeking to profit from unlimited laundry use ;-).

Great stay great place I would recommend.

Location was great in the center of the city, near a subway line and safe

Didn’t like not having cable TV, although we were on the go most of the time. Chrome caster didn’t work for us and our credit card got blocked trying to use it.

Great location but too pricey for quality of apartment.

The location is great. We loved exploring the area.

The stairway was narrow and steep and difficult to get luggage up. We never had a wifi connection. When we first reached out about it, leaving a message at night when we arrived, we were called back at 6:24, 6:25 and 6:26 am. We had arrived after traveling across the country so it was equivalent to being woken up at 4:24 am. The wifi issue wasn’t resolved (however the we do give credit to the company for trying to resolve the issue). We found several things not completely clean.

The location is great for visiting Boston. The apartment is very comfortable.

The shower curtain kept falling down. It would also have been nice to have had an extra blanket.

Beautiful location. Frustrating stay.

The apt was nice and location was beautiful! The interior design was nicely done and thought out. It’s smaller but to be expected in city.

The door code to our unit didn’t work when we arrived. My check in was not changed to the correct time and I did this 3 days prior to arrival. The first person we contacted said our check in didn’t update and we needed to wait from 10am to 4pm. We then had to haul our luggage around the city with us. When we came back at 4 to check in and our door code given to us didn’t work. We had to sit in the hall with our luggage again until finally someone on the phone told us where a spare hard key was. Would’ve been nice if they had told us that at 10am when our check in actually was.

Will definitely stay at The Hancock when traveling to Boston, but will reserve the one bedroom suite

The location was perfect and the room was exceptionally clean.

The sink in the bathroom was small and was difficult to wash your face without getting water everywhere.

No bench top space in the bathroom Soap provided but no housing in the shower Location of the fixed shower head did not work with the shower space, it was very cramped and difficult to shower. Heater wasn't effective in hearing up the room Responses to late check out/check in request was very slow

We loved our trip to Boston and felt our apartment was ideally placed for everywhere we wanted to go

The location was excellent. Our street was lovely and quiet, for the most part. Comfortable bed. Kitchen was useful.

Unlike other apartment and house rentals, the kitchen was pretty barren for cooking-- no oils, no spices other than salt and pepper. No shelf for soap and shampoo in shower, so had to keep putting it all on the floor.
