Access to the park was easy and super convenient. Breakfast option were many and good.
The AC in the room could not be lowered below 20 degrees, which made it a little uncomfortable.

★★★☆☆ 3/5 — Good location and park access, but significant issues with humidity and maintenance
We stayed at the PortAventura Hotel from 12 August for several days on a half-board package, which included unlimited access to PortAventura Park, one entry to Ferrari Land, and discounts for the water park.
Overall, we had a good stay, but there are some important things that I think the hotel should address.
On the positive side, cleanliness overall was very good. The swimming pools and beach area were lovely and clean, and there were plenty of lifeguards around, which was reassuring. There were also enough sun loungers for everyone during our stay. Hotel towels can be rented for €2 per towel per stay, and they can also be taken to the water park, which is convenient.
Food
Breakfast was quite basic. There were cereals, milk, yoghurt, some fruit, eggs, bacon, tomatoes, bread, pastries, pancakes and churros, but the selection was limited and could definitely be improved.
Dinner was considerably better. There were usually several meat options, fish, paella with seafood, pasta, and various children's options such as chicken nuggets and burgers. There was also a small selection of desserts. I had no major complaints about the quality or variety of the evening meals.
One thing to be aware of if you're booking half board is that drinks are not included with dinner, so you will need to pay separately for them.
Another important point for anyone staying for several days: the dinner menu essentially repeats every three days. So if you're staying for a week, you should expect to see the same cycle of dishes more than once.
The biggest advantage
Without a doubt, the unlimited access to PortAventura Park is the biggest selling point of staying at the hotel. Being able to walk straight into the park and have unlimited access makes the hotel extremely convenient, especially for families and anyone planning to spend most of their time at PortAventura.
The biggest downside was the humidity and smell in the hotel. As soon as we entered our first room, we were hit by a strong closed-in, damp and mouldy smell. The room itself was clean, and the bathroom was particularly clean, with some visible improvements and maintenance. However, the ventilation and air conditioning clearly need significant improvement. The air never felt properly refreshed, and there was a persistent damp smell throughout our stay. The humidity was especially noticeable not only in the rooms but also in the hallways and corridors. For a hotel in this category, particularly one catering heavily to families and children, I think this needs serious attention.
The ants were another major issue. We found a large number of ants in our room, as well as in the corridors and on the staircases. There were so many in our first room that we had to request a room change. Unfortunately, we experienced the same problem in the second room, although to a much lesser extent. This is something that should definitely be addressed, especially given the number of children staying at the hotel.
