Inturotel Cala Azul

The hotel is suited in a very beautiful location, right in front of a cala and has access through a stair in the rocks.

The kitchen utensils are extremely basic. There isn’t even a microwave available, and many additional services come at an extra cost. The sunbed situation is also quite frustrating. Although the hotel states that guests are not allowed to reserve sunbeds, in practice, around 95% of people do exactly that. Every day I was there, by 8 a.m. all the sunbeds were already “taken,” usually with nothing more than a towel placed on them. If you want to enjoy a sunbed, it seems you have to wake up around 7 a.m. and join the competition. This can be quite stressful when you are on holiday and simply want to relax without having to fight for a spot. The hotel’s cala is undoubtedly beautiful and unique, but unfortunately there was quite a lot of plastic and other debris floating in the water. I understand that this is not entirely the hotel’s responsibility, but given the price and the location, it would be a great added value if the hotel could make an effort to help keep the area cleaner. Overall, while the location and the cala are special, I found the experience disappointing considering how expensive the hotel is. For the price paid, I expected significantly better facilities, service, and attention to the guest experience.

The location was definitely the highlight of our stay. The cove was absolutely beautiful and such a fun place to spend time. There were plenty of great food options nearby and it was also only a short and easy walk into the main town, which made it a really convenient base for exploring the area.

Unfortunately, the room itself was disappointing and brought our overall experience down. There was a noticeable unpleasant smell in the room, and the air conditioning was only average. The “double bed” was actually two separate beds pushed together, with seperate bedding, which wouldn’t have been a major issue if they stayed together, but they constantly moved apart. My partner and I essentially ended up sleeping on separate beds, which wasn’t exactly the most romantic setup for a holiday! There were also several smaller things that added up. There was no tea, coffee or milk provided, and the safe in our room didn’t work. Service was also quite inconsistent - some staff members were genuinely lovely and helpful, while others unfortunately seemed fairly uninterested when we needed assistance.
