We had a pleasant stay at Steigenberger Alcazar and appreciated many aspects of the hotel.
The grounds, landscaping, vegetation and pools are beautiful, and our family room was very spacious. The hotel offers a wide range of facilities and activities for both children and adults. The pier leading out into the sea is also a great feature, providing a lovely long walk and easy access to snorkeling.
The main lobby bar was a highlight, and we would like to acknowledge Walaa and Kamal from the main bar, Esraa and Martina from Customer Relations, Ahmed from the beach restaurant, as well as Mohamed Abood from housekeeping. They were all very customer-oriented and attentive, and we appreciated their efforts throughout our stay.
Overall, the hotel has beautiful grounds, excellent facilities and some genuinely outstanding staff. With a meaningful improvement in the food offering and greater attention to detail across the hotel, the experience could be much more consistent with its price point.
However, the food left a lot to be desired and was our main disappointment during the stay. For a hotel at this price point, we expected a significantly higher standard of food quality. Unfortunately, it often felt as though cost-saving measures were being prioritised over the overall dining experience. Both the buffet and the à la carte restaurants would benefit from improvements in food quality and management.
More generally, we felt that the overall attention to detail could be improved, particularly for a hotel positioned in this category. The hotel has so many excellent facilities and assets, and a more consistent focus on quality would make a significant difference.
My tip - just Get some proper managers with hotel experience to train the staff!

Outdoor facilities, rooms, staff, including the onsite medical doctor who was extremely helpful and competent.
The only problem was the quality of the food. I tried all restaurants and the only one that was halfway decent was the lebanese restaurant. Staff was friendly, but unfortunately it seemed that there was a lack if coordination regarding who was responsible for what. Waiting times at the beach restaurant were over 45 minutes for simple dishes like fried shrimp and ceasar salad with only a few tables being occupied.
