Art Hotel Riposo

The hotel is unique, with much character and interesting, highly personal details. Family run so it felt very welcoming. The location was tucked away on a side cobbled street but only a minute’s walk from the lakeside. The restaurant can be outside in the courtyard (or inside during wet weather) or up on the rooftop. The food was excellent and had a good choice. Bedrooms were very spacious and thoughtfully laid out with good size bathrooms and comfy beds, great AC. The rooftop included the outdoor swimming pool with lots of separate areas for lounging (including a small cults only section but this wasn’t necessary since although there were some kids, there were only a few, not loads of noisy kids). The rooftop also had nice seating for a drink/lunch/dinner with excellent views.

Ascona is a small town but still the location is extremely central. The staff is great, from the greeting at the reception to all other services. Rooms are very comfortable. There is a nice swimming pool at the top floor. Also in the room you have robes and slippers for the pool area. Breakfast is good and the restaurant itself is very comfortable.

Everything was great. Nothing to complain.

Buffet breakfast was fantastic excellent selection and was regularly restocked by staff without asking. Loved the interior design which had a strong theme throughout. Sad to have missed the jazz on a Saturday night.

Would be good to have a kettle in the room.
