Bon Accord was one of our favourite stays in Sri Lanka. The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable, and the occasional monkeys on the balcony were such a fun bonus! But the real highlight was Prasad, the host — an absolute gem! His breakfasts were incredible and so generous that we wouldn’t feel hungry for the next 7–8 hours. Every morning he greeted us with a smile and fresh flowers, which was such a lovely personal touch.
We were two girls travelling, and Prasad made us feel so welcome and comfortable throughout. We even had a lovely chat with him before leaving, which made the stay feel genuinely personal.
Also the property is in walking distance from the beach as well as the main walking street with restaurants and cafés within 2mins.
If you’re in Mirissa and want a warm, local experience rather than a typical hotel stay, Bon Accord is a must!

A magical homestay experience in Mirissa – Bon Accord is a must-stay! ❤️
We had the most wonderful stay at Bon Accord, and it's hands-down the best homestay in Mirissa. From the moment we arrived, Prasad's & Prashantu's hospitality made us feel like family.
The breakfast spread was outstanding every single morning — fresh, generous, and clearly made with so much care. But what truly won our hearts was Prasad's & Prashantu's thoughtfulness: he handmade a different flower arrangement for me each morning — sometimes a garland, sometimes a tiara — all crafted himself. It's the kind of personal touch you simply don't find anywhere else.
The rooms were spotless and smelled absolutely amazing, and the whole property had such a warm, homely feel. Add to that two adorable dachshunds who instantly became part of our stay, and it made everything even more special.
If you're looking for a homestay in Mirissa with genuine warmth, incredible hospitality, and thoughtful little touches that turn a stay into a memory — Bon Accord is it. Highly, highly recommend!

What a beautiful place, everything was perfect. We were welcomed so kindly by Prasad! We were given great recommendations by him also on places to see in Mirissa. We were also extremely grateful as we visited over the Sri Lankan new year and we noticed how gracefully Prasad managed a time which is spent visiting family whilst also ensuring we were well looked after, we thank you for this and wish you and your family a beautiful new year.
Finally, it can’t got without mentioning THE BREAKFAST! What a beautiful spread! A typical Sri Lankan breakfast each morning that was all homemade and absolutely delicious, we ‘rolled’ away from the table wishing we could have more of our tummy’s didn’t feel like they’d burst. I’ll be dreaming of these breakfasts for a while! Thank you
