We had a fantastic stay at Sunny Cove Surf Stay and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Mirissa.
We were a family of three adults and two older teenagers and booked three separate rooms, giving us four double beds and three en-suite bathrooms in total. There was ample space for all of us, and at around $40 per room per night, we thought the value for money was exceptional.
The property itself is extremely clean, well kept and feels either newly built or recently renovated. The bedrooms are modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean, with excellent, reliable air conditioning — very welcome after a hot day out in Mirissa!
There are also plenty of useful shared facilities available, including kitchen facilities, a washing machine, clothes airers and an iron. Having all of these freely available made a big difference during a longer family stay.
The location is excellent too, with shops and beaches close by and everything we needed within easy reach.
The biggest highlight of our stay, however, was the wonderful host who looked after us. He was genuinely exceptional — always available and incredibly helpful, regularly going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable, while never being intrusive. Every morning he prepared us a lovely fresh breakfast and was more than happy to make adjustments to suit what we wanted.
It is rare to find somewhere that combines this level of cleanliness, modern comfortable rooms, excellent air conditioning, useful facilities and such good value. But what really makes Sunny Cove Surf Stay special is the level of care and hospitality we received throughout our stay.
We left extremely happy with our choice and would absolutely stay here again if we return to Mirissa. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful time at the sunny cove surf stay. The location is perfect! It’s down a quiet lane but only 5 minutes from the beach, and just a couple of minutes from the Main Street. Our room felt like a hotel room standard and our hosts were so kind and attentive. They always made sure we had everything we needed and they cooked us a lovely breakfast each morning which we could enjoy on their upstairs decking. You really do get value for money at this accommodation and I highly recommend it!
