Seven Days Hotel - İstanbul

Friendly & helpful staff. Nice clean room. Very convenient location about 10 minutes walk from the Blue mosque. Made excellent arrangements for airport drop off at a short notice.

Nothing in particular

I liked the location. It is very close to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, all walking distance. There are many restaurants and shops nearby, which made our stay easy and convenient.

Our room was in the basement, but I understand this because I booked a budget room, so you get what you pay for. However, the slippers they provided were very thin, almost like paper. They could have offered proper slippers. I will post a photo. During our 5-night stay, they cleaned the room and provided new towels, but they did not change the bed sheet. They also did not provide a duvet - maybe because it is summer — only a blanket, so we had to set the air-conditioner to a very low temperature. Another thing is that when you go out of the hotel to the main street, you need to walk uphill, which can be tiring.

Comfy bed and good location, 20 min walk from the eminou ferry terminal to get to Asia and 5 minute walk to the blue mosque, easy to book a private taxi to the airport as it is a bit of a mission by public transport (3 trams) which was okay for us on arrival but we were leaving early. The property was easy to contact via WhatsApp and checked in with us beforehand to make sure we didn’t need a taxi from the airport which was a nice touch.

On our arrival we were told there was an issue with our room so we had been moved into another (upgraded) room and told ‘if the issue couldn’t be resolved tomorrow’ it was possible to stay here for the duration of our trip. As we were leaving the hotel the next morning we booked our return taxi, at this point we were asked if we could pack our luggage to move rooms as somebody else would be checking into the room we had stayed in for the night, making it clear it was always a plan for us to move (which was frustrating). At first we needed to be ready to move by 12pm then it was 11am and then we were asked to be ready now (9.30am) even though check in time wasn’t until 1pm and apparently our new room could be ready in 10 minutes? After the move everything was fine, it was just frustrating that the goal posts were being moved every time we spoke to somebody. I’m also not sure what their plan would have been if we hadn’t stopped at reception to enquire about the taxi, but nonetheless the next room was very comfortable and pleasant enough for the rest of our stay (however the bathroom wasn’t very clean). I appreciate this is probably a fairly uncommon experience for guests but something to be aware of. The man we spoke to who I think was the manager was at first accommodating, then frustrated with us and then wanted sympathy when asking us to be ready for numerous different times which I felt a bit uncomfortable with.
