We stayed one night. The pool was a nice size, breakfast was tasty. The beds were comfortable and it was generally quiet.
There was a musty smell here in some corridors.

Lovely location & close to everything in old town
When we checked in we had to pay a hundred euro deposit, which was fine as we got it back. One of the ladies on the reception desk was also a bit rude. She came up in the middle of us checking in with another girl who was lovely and stated ‘girls do not use towels for makeup!!’ She seemed to be pretty cross. It made us a bit awkward. We wouldn’t use a towel to remove makeup but I think if you’re paying to stay in a hotel, obviously a towel may get dirty.

The location is brilliant. Beach 5 mins walk away. Plenty of restaurants and bars within 200m of hotel.
Nice roof top sunbathing area.
The air-conditioning unit leaked the whole week. Spoke a number of times to reception but nothing changed.
Balcony so tiny. The drip from the air-conditioning unit, onto my head as i walked out onto the balcony was so annoying.

The staff were very helpful and the location IF you wish to be near the Centro and beach Praia do Peneco beach
I do know that the facility is old, but i was not expecting it was that old. The pictures shown was not how it was in reality. We did not get a good sleep, the walls are thin, it provided very small noise isolation - and it does not not help that the majority of the guests is a demographic that flies to the island to drink and party till they drop.
Not a place to go if you are traveling with your kids.
The pool is dirty, you could see it with the amount of dirt on the pool floor and the algae on the walling.
I do not recommend booking in with the breakfast either - same exact food every day, warm food have no variation as well. With the kind of food served, you could easily buy it by the local grocery (cheaper).
