Our room was in a recently opened newly renovated building which was lovely, Little Court, a few minutes walk from the main hotel itself. Spotlessly clean. Tea & coffee plus complimentary bottled water provided. Supper in the restaurant was delicious. Although we found the lighting a bit too dark for us. Breakfast was also delicious and staff were happy to tweek the cooked menu for us. Ideal location for walking. Would stay there again but not sure if I would like to be in Little Court.
Unfortunately the building where our room was was very close to a very busy road. The heavy traffic noise went on until well after 11pm. Inspite of the really comfortable bed I didn't sleep terribly well due to the traffic noise.
The beautiful modern bathroom had no window to open or any kind of fan, just a bizarre locked door with a frosted glass section. It would have been nice to have had some fresh air to remove bad odour and condensation.

Lovely old building with grand interiors, large open grounds to sit out with a drink or wander, and great access to the canal at the end of the site. The manager on duty, Evie, was fantastic. Very approachable and understanding. After a strange incident on the first night she was so attentive and very kindly upgraded us..
The only issue was that they had a busy period with an event in the function space, where they could have perhaps had a few more staff on for the bar and restaurant; some appeared to be running between the two.

I stayed in Little Court away from the main hotel. I loved the decor and it was very comfortable and clean. The bed was so comfortable, the shower room was excellent, a range of teas, coffee and biscuits provided.
The breakfast could have been better. Some items weren’t available when I arrived and the cooked breakfast was over cooked.

Location, appearance and general old part of the building is great. Staff super helpful and bar area & Garden very good.
Paid extra for a Garden facing room and it was disappointing certainly not worth the money. Our Bedroom Located in what appears to be a 80s extension building which is now really tired, no ventilation other than window so it smelled a bit funky, the bed hard, bathroom fan nosier than a jet aircraft, The people in the room above us may just as well have been in the same room as us !! the noise transfer between floors is incredible.
So not a great night sleep.
