It's a tipical hostel with bunk beds, and as we were a family of 4, we booked the entire room for us, which was very pratical. The toillet was just across the hallway and the shared kitchen had plenty of room and appliances for all the guests to use.
The bunk beds were a little noisy and cranky whenever someone turned around in the bed.

Good location with a great view of Pico island. The room was clean and spacious and we loved to sit in the balcony in the evenings relaxing after a day exploring São Jorge. Big shared kitchen, cleaned and tidy where you can prep your meals.
It can be a bit noisy from the road outside and the petrol station bar but after 22h it goes very quiet so that didn't actually bother us at all and we slept without issues. Also guests were all respectful of the quiet times during the night.
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.

A good, reliable choice in Urzelina. Marficas Hostel was clean and quiet during my visit. Each room includes its own balcony and a generous individual locker for storage. There is also a well-equipped common kitchen available. The staff were attentive to my needs and provided practical local information and guidance. Overall, a pleasant and hassle-free experience.

Very pleasent stay. We got a private room, with bathroom, private entrance, a balcony and a view to Pico mountain! It was very clean, there was everything you needed: towels, soap, hairdryer, a kitchen available for everyone, a parking lot and very nice and helpful staff. I really recommend the stay!
