Small but decent room. The wifi was good. Staff were helpful. Nice to have both soft and firm pillows. Communication via WhatsApp was good, but it only started on the day of arrival.
The number of power cuts was absolutely insane. I lost count. Probably between 20 and 30 in 24 hours, and the lifts stop working whenever there is one, which is scary.
The wifi was up and down like a yo-yo.
The staff don't respond to requests via your booking to reserve the shuttle from the airport.
"Room service" involves ordering food by phone (except the phone in my room didn't work, so I had to go to reception), then going to reception to collect it. I ordered a burger and fries, waited about half an hour for them, and when I took the delivery to my room, I discovered it was fish and chips. After travelling all day without eating, I couldn't face reordering and waiting again, so I ate it. It came without cutlery, salt or pepper. Presumably someone else is annoyed they ordered fish and chips and got a burger.

The hotel is excellent in terms of spaciousness, ease of use, location, and proximity to the airport; furthermore, the staff are incredibly friendly and truly attentive listeners.
The shower water temperature was unstable, and I was startled when it suddenly became very hot. Also, the shower floor felt a bit slippery/slimy, so I felt that some measures might be needed for the flooring in the shower room.

the restaurant around the pool in the other Holiday Inn adjacent was lovely and the food was excellent
The Booking.com upgrade didn't happen - On arrival there was not a room available. Once I got a room, the towels were still in dryer and took a few hours to arrive. The air con didn't work for both nights; they provided a fan. It was comfortable, although I had to switch the TV off at the wall as the screen would not go dark / switch off completely with remote.
