We had a friendly welcome from the gentleman on reception. The hotel itself is charming and located in a nice and safe area. It's a 10 minute walk to the train station, and only 15 minutes and 4 stops to the city centre. There are two train companies with SKM (red ticket machines or buy on the train) seemingly half the price of KM (green machines). The room was exceptionally clean throughout with charming decor. Breakfast had several options given the size of the hotel. Nice place for dinner just around the corner. Good price for the quality offered.
At the rear of the hotel there is lots of noise from the airport, railway line, roads and a business with the windows open and closed. It would have been useful if the hotel offered earplugs in the room. The shampoo was not of great quality and only in small sachets. Otherwise still a very nice place to stay.

Nice and clean
Due to the hot weather, the rooms were extremely hot, there was a small fan for cooling.

The American House is American only by name; Its staff hardly speaks any English to the point where when you ask a question to an employee, she doesn’t know how to reply in English and goes running off looking for a colleague able to bring you an answer in Hemingway’s lingo…
