Sunset Cottage is a beautiful secluded beach house that is a home away from home. This 1 bedroom, 1 bath cottage sits on a 1/2 mile of sandy beach. Enjoy Exuma's beautiful clear waters during the day and its emaculate sunsets right from the patio. Located on the waters edge on Hoopers Bay.
Long nature walks or view and swim with the green turtles that call the bay it's home.
It's great for couples wanting a romantic setting or quiet time,
Or to just take in the natural beauty of nature that surrounds the cottage.
Ideally located near grocery stores, banks, boat rentals, restaurants and at night time you will find llive entertainment just 15 minutes away.

First time in Exuma, and this place was perfect for what GF and I needed. Location was great as a grocery store was right there, and pretty central on the island to get to all the beaches. Right on the water with a small sand beach area to yourself. Two kayaks were a nice surprise that we used on several locations. The owner did have a small rental car that met are needs, but be prepared for rough roads to the house and in other areas of the island. If we come back, we will bring our own pillows and bedding, but otherwise, for the price, not much else I could ask for. We werent there to watch tv and play on the internet (though it does have both) but to get out a explore and left happy. Owner was good with contact and helping out

This quaint little house Is located on such beautiful property back in a private cove. The house is small but has everything you need. The view from the back porch is amazing! During high tide the water surrounds the porch. You will have fish and turtles swimming right next to you. Peter was the most helpful and accommodating host we have ever had. He even has a car available to rent wih the house. I highly recommend renting Peter's house.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Peter’s place. Very secluded and private. We had the beach to ourselves most of our stay. A few things to note and could be upgraded easily is a new bed (king size would go a long way) and the water pressure to shower and kitchen sink need to be stronger. Queen bed was not comfortable and the bathtub backs up when showering. Other than that, the cottage was great and had everything we needed. We used kayaks and paddle board, water floaters were a plus as well. We did some snorkeling in hoopers bay right out front and saw some cool fish. Had a couple turtles visit us and were able to feed and pet. Very cool place. Peter is very responsive and I do appreciate that. This cottage will always be special to us as we got engaged right in front of the place on the sand. 😍thank you Peter!

My wife and I just returned from a wonderful 18 day stay at Sunset Cottage. This was our second consecutive stay at Sunset Cottage and our eight consecutive year vacationing on
Exuma. Needless to say, we love Exuma, and our favorite place on the island has become Hooper Bay and Sunset Cottage. As described in my review from last year ("The Best of Exuma" ),
Sunset Cottage is ideal for two people, is clean and comfortable, has the most spectacular location, and is hosted
by two terrific people, Peter and Rita Burrows. And for those
not wishing to rent a car, the cottage is conveniently located
a short, pleasant walk from two grocery stores and a liquor store. As we have explored the island on previous visits, we
now prefer to spend our time relaxing at Sunset Cottage and
enjoying the beach, swimming, using the kayaks and paddle boards, painting, and reading. Except for a couple of visits to see friends who were anchored off Stocking Island, we spent
our entire stay at the cottage and loved every moment of it. Sunset Cottage is an ideal place for a couple to relax, spend time together, and to recharge. We absolutely love being there, are very appreciative of Peter and Rita's hospitality, and are always sad to leave. The only thing that helps leaving is knowing that we will be returning again next year. As I stated last year, we cannot say enough wonderful things about Sunset Cottage and Peter and Rita.
