The onsen was a great added bonus to my stay specially early in the morning. The hotel is very pleasant and the staff helpful. The room was very comfortable.
The location was a bit more north than I would have liked, but it was still close to several nice restaurants and shopping. Breakfast was good but there are several options around the area that are equally good and a fraction of the cost. My room faced the street and I had to endure some street noise caused by festivities related to the adjacent shrine.

I had a lovely stay at Resol Trinity Kyoto. The location is great, while the hotel itself is quiet and peaceful. I especially loved the public bath — it was such a nice way to relax after a day of exploring Kyoto.
The geisha experience was also wonderful and a real highlight of my stay. It was such a special way to experience a part of traditional Japanese culture.
I also really appreciated the hotel’s efforts to be more environmentally friendly.

The onsen was amazing. It was great to use after a long day of walking to soak into a hot public bath. Most of the time it was only me in there. The breakfast was great and the staff were very kind. Loved how they gave us fresh towels daily, and cleaned our room on the 4th day. A special thanks to Nishikawa for making our 6 days there a special one. She is very sweet and helpful.
Rooms are small, yet very common in Japan. We didn’t realize the windows open until the last few days in. Minor details.

This hotel was promoted at a special rate by Booking.com so I tried it. It's ideally located near Nijo-ji castle and the Imperial Palace. It's also situated smack in the middle of 2 major subway stations (Karasuma Line and the Tozzi line). There's many convenience stores and an underground shopping center at the Metro station. The hotel has a small onsen an amenities at the reception. The exterior decoration is pleasant. A Maiko comes for hotel guests on weekdays. The performance is for guests only, and lasts 20 mn.
I waited several days before giving this review to be fair. Despite the wonderful location an room decor, I wasn't satisfied with daily, small details which in the long run were not worth my money:
1. The hotel rooms and areas are dusty. Ok-someone reading may think it's going too far, however all the lacquered wood in the bedroom had fine coats of dust. The latticework in the chairs were filled dust. The tatami floor had long, black hair on it. This wasn't cleaned when my room was cleaned.
2. The onsen clothing in the drawers smells like sweat! They hadn't been washed from guests before me.
3. The practice of cleaning the room every other day is fine with me, however they promise to provide fresh bottles of water and clean the garbage cans. We were told to put our trash outside the door, and every single day I had to ask reception for a bottle of water.
4. Sending your suitcase by Takkyubin should be easy, however this hotel has "very strict" policies which make it an inconvenience for you. (I had no problems in Tokyo).
