Hotel Can Simo

Room was very comfortable and clean, and had no adjoining rooms

The aircon was struggling, but reached a cool enough temp to be able to sleep No way of checking out and no one on reception at 8.30pm so had to just leave key on the side after barman let us in, check in was via machine so couldn’t ask about facilities or breakfast, so ventured out

Nice location in historical town of Alcudia, just a few minutes walk from a free parking lot. Self check-in machine was easy to navigate and we received all check in info in advance on WhatsApp.

The hotel is located in a great part of town, breakfast was pretty good, they offered it cheaper as an offer when we got there. Breakfast and check-in/out are in different hotels, but they are very close to the property. Thankfully, the air-conditioning worked fairly well, and there was no problem with the water pressure as some of the other reviews pointed out.

I feel like the room we got was false advertising, I was hoping for one of the 2 rooms featured in the pictures for this type of room when you book the property. I would have paid extra to actually get said room. Instead, we got a room with a very small window (almost no natural light) that led into the inner courtyard that is positioned exactly over the grill of the restaurant bellow. As you can imagine, it's loud, and it smells like they're cooking steak next to you (my partner worked up an appetite, but I'm vegetarian...) The mattress had dips in it. It wasn't exactly uncomfortable, but it wasn't great either. The check-in machine didn't work with either of the 2 options provided (name and leaving date or booking code) and we were lucky the person at the reception was there to sort it out for us, it still took a while. When leaving, they don't say anything about where you check-out, where to leave the key, etc. So we went to the hotel where the check-in was made and proceeded to wait and wait and ask the cleaning staff (which giggled at our expectation of finding someone at reception). When someone did come he said to just leave the key on the desk and go, a minute later a woman showed up and said we can't just go since we drank one bottle from the mini fridge (we did not, but I did see that an additional one got added after one of the cleanings) thankfully the woman relented and I didn't have to pay the extra cost. Overall, very disappointing, especially considering the cost we paid for a subpar room that's somehow considering the same as one of the advertised rooms.
