Central location, clean,
In the heat of summer there was no AC, the room was small and view to the alley,

I've stayed there before, this place is unbeatable. Right in the centre of Lille, walkable from Lille Europe station and right by Lille Flandres station, an easy stroll to everything you might want. Elevator, ramp in from the street, views of the square outside, kettle, wifi, actual sockets by the bed. Just perfection.
There's no AC, so I had to have the windows wide open, and inevitably there were mosquitos. But it's not usually this hot. Otherwise my only downside was how brief a stay I had this time.

The top floor breakfast room is genial! The view is great and the food options are plentiful.
Wish there was air conditioning in rooms facing west or south.
