Great location, a short walk to Akakura Onsen chair lifts. The owners/staff were very friendly and easy-going. I like how Hotel Senke is surrounded by lotsa food options. Can be a little noisy but it's the main road, can't complain about that.
The only thing that bothered me a little is that as it is an old building, the kitchen ventilation isn't great. You can smell food (something fried) all the way to 2nd floor rooms.

I liked that the bathing was onsen only. And that we slept on futons. And it felt very authentic, and the staff were nice, and it's on the main strip close to everything.

I stayed with Hotel Senke before in 2018 and the host lady still remembered me, the whole family is so friendly and it made our stay feel special. The hotel is only 200m from Akakura onsen ski resort so the location is excellent for us too.

Very friendly staff!
The location on main street is very good, a short walk to restaurants and bars.
A short walk to the buss terminal i Akakura Onsen and the tourist information.
Good and varied breakfast.
The rooms are not very clean, and has a smell of mold. The futons are a bit hard to sleep on and the lighting in the room is limited.
A bit loud with the main street right outside the window, bring earplugs:)
