The ocean view is amazing! The beach was beautiful and clean. Private beach. Rooms are big. Friendly staff. Variety of food at buffet. Tasty dishes.
Poor air conditioning in the rooms. Hotel dated. Had to take a cart to get between locations within the hotel.
We only had meals at the hotel and
6 out of 7 people that we were traveling with got sick. All had diarrhea, cramps and even fever…….

front desk terrible experience they look at you that your have not enougth money to pay the hotel they talk between them y had a problems whit my reservation and they start ignoringme and looking at me like i was liyng insted of helping me

The hotel is lovely. What truly makes this hotel special is its people; almost all the staff are incredibly friendly. Some are a bit intrusive, but the vast majority are very professional, always with a big smile on their faces despite the hardships they face, such as the hotel flooding during rainstorms or excessive humidity. I think the least friendly are those who handle check-in/check-out and those at desks, like those in the rewards programs.
The quality of the food is inconsistent. Some days everything was delicious, other days salty, and other days you could find hairs in the fish, so there's no real consistency in the food. Their drinks are tasty, though nothing out of the ordinary.
The beaches are nice and calm.
For us, traveling with a child and an elderly person, having to use transportation to get around the hotel made the trip much less convenient. While the shuttle could arrive in a couple of minutes, there were times when it took far too long. Once, it seemed they forgot to pick us up, so we had to request transportation again, and with that heat and humidity, the 25-minute wait felt like an hour and a half!
The air conditioning in the room was quite good, but none of the restaurants have air conditioning. If you're not in your room, the heat and the humidity can feel overwhelming! I suppose that's why the water in all the pools is rather cold, so people can refresh.
The hotel looked relatively clean; however, we arrived at our room, and in less than a minute, my little one was literally covered in dust from the curtain, face, clothes, and hair! I'd never experienced anything like it!
My little one and I got stomach aches the last night; he vomited, and I had intense stomach pain. Would I return? It's not a definite no, as the staff is incredibly helpful, but if I return to Huatulco, I'll probably try a different all-inclusive hotel. Would I recommend it? I don't know; it all depends on the person and their individual circumstances.
