Great hotel that we're definitely going back to.

A fabulous, family run hotel in the heart of the old and very beautiful city of Girona. The original building has been tastefully refurbished whilst retaining much of the original architecture within both the hotel and the rooms. We stayed there on 2 separate occasions during our trip and on both occasions the rooms were of a very high standard. Buffet breakfast is served in the morning with a wide range of items to choose from. The owners are very attentive to your needs, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our luggage was lost by our airline and was due to be delivered to the hotel just after we checked out to go on a 4 day cycling trip. The owners said not to worry, they would receive our luggage, put it away somewhere safe and it would be there for us when we returned. Girona itself is a very popular cycling destination and if you are thinking of bringing a bike or renting one not to worry, the Historic has a safe place where you can store them when you are not out cycling. Also if you're fan of Game of Thrones the hotel is a stones throw away from many of the major filming locations. We stayed in 8 different hotels on this trip through Spain and the Historic was our favorite, we would definitely visit again.

There is nothing that we didn't like about the hotel but be aware that the old town of Girona is situated on a steep hillside and is made up of narrow cobbled streets and steps so if mobility is a factor then the location may not suit though the hotel is accessible by car.

Warm, authentic, family hotel in the heart of the old town.

It is the small family type hotel. It is located in the heart of the old town of Girona. All the historical sights are near by. The hotel is very beautiful! The room we had was in authentic style with wooden carved furniture and stylish and modern bathroom. There is a small, but very beautiful terrace on the roof of the hotel with the view of the Girona cathedral. Good breakfast: not a lot choice, but enough for a good breakfast. Products were fresh and delicious. 100% recommended. With pleasure we will visit this hotel again.

Smart historic refurbished hotel centrally located.

Located in historic old town, the hotel interior combined nicely old medieval walls with a modern take. Sun terrace on the top with a close view Girona cathedral. 10 mins walk to main shopping streets/ restaurants. City walls were closer. Hilly and uneven pavements which we found fine but might not suit everyone.

A little pricey but a bespoke historic building.

Exceptional

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Historic in Girona Spain. The hotel is family-run and provides fantastic service. The room was huge and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. The owner was very kind and even gave us a lift to the Girona Stadium for a football game together with his son. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Girona.

Beautiful hotel, helpful host and amazing location

spotlessly clean in a perfect location, easy walk to everything. extremely helpful host who gave us a list of recommendations in check in for sites, snacks and restaurants which became our itinerary for the two days we were in girona. everything he recommended was great.

Hotel Historic had a central location in the old town, with lovely views of the cathedral. There was an ample and tasty breakfast each day. Good value for money. Comfortable room, helpful and friendly owners. I would stay in this hotel again when I visit Girona.

Except for the bed we had a nice stay!

We had a really nice stay, people are nice and the rooms are spacious. Good breakfast and the location was really good!

The beds are small and the mattrass was not good. In that sence we thought the stay was a bit expensive in relation to this experience.

This hotel is a gem, located in the heart of the historical district in Girona. Javier made sure we had a packed breakfast as our group was meeting before they served at the hotel. Room spacious and beds really comfortable.

Very good despite the above issues.

Location was perfect to see the old town. Breakfast was a standard continental.

Shower to have a curtain. Water everywhere. No bars on wall to hpld on to as it was in a bath. We were told on arrival not to switch off the AC as it would affect everybody elses AC. AC was above the bed and blew cold air over me all night even if I set it at a high temperature.

A very warm and helpful welcome. The couple who run the Historic were very available to advise us on our new stay. The breakfast was just delicious, everything you could want, freshly cooked croissants, eggs to order, gourmet coffee. great city map explanation that we appreciated. the room as exactly what was pictured, except the bathroom door.

There is no parking in the old city where the hotel is located- but that is normal in the city center. We found spots above town, outside the city walls and the owner also gave us other places to park ideas. We did NOT like that our bathroom sliding door was clear glass. Really? Who chooses such a thing? I should have taken a photo.
