Right in the heart of the Old Street. We had a big mountain view room which looked out over the sea too. Great to relax in, and look out at the view. Dated furnishings but a nice feel to the whole place. Good little fridge. Good shower. Great AC. Comfortable bed and lots of sitting options in the room. Water dispenser. A free, fun pour-over coffee experience offered after breakfast. So handy for buses to local areas and to Taipei. Nice walks around the area. The town is touristy and fun.
Breakfast was bland but fine. The pancakes were the highlight. Our room was up 4 flights of stairs, if that might bother you. The staff speak little English so we had some funny miscommunications over the fact breakfast is a plate of food delivered to your table. We did find another guest's slipper under our bed.

Located @ Central of jiufen street so walk half way with hands full of snack can just easily walk back to hotel & put stuff. After hands free can continue on w photo taking.
No elevator which understand jiufen is like this but maybe provide portal service.

Very central location, super kind and helpful staff, comfortable room and breakfast included.
The negative aspect of our experience was that we found cockroaches in the room, which made it hard to sleep. However, the staff was extremely helpful and handled the situation super well, offering a full refund the next morning and giving us a gift bag with local treats. It seemed to be an isolated issue, as we didn’t notice similar complaints in other reviews.
