Overall a great stay at Jiufen, welcoming and warm hosts. The views are spectacular and quite accessible to Old Street. Very thoughtful design of the space and small delightful touches. Only wish we had more time here.
We went just after the typhoon, and the payment wasn't possible by card, which was an inconvenience; however, it was no fault of anyone, as it was a natural occurrence that caused the wifi cables etc. to be damaged. But,an alternative to pay, via booking.com or other online options would be really useful and helpful in such emergency cases. Not depending only on 'Cash' transactions. General note to travellers – Please carry cash!
