Close to everything, within walking distance to most places. The staff were very helpful and always accommodating.
A bonus was coming back after a day of sightseeing and having a complimentary snack and drink bar from 6 pm to 10 pm and relax in the guest lounge area.
Nothing, could not fault.

Everything about this hotel was an A+ for me. It’s located just at the exit of Higashiyama station - very convenient. The ambience is beautiful, stylish, and very clean! It has a truly beautiful lounge, with a view of a clean river just flowing close by. I stayed for 5 nights on a business trip and enjoyed working from the lounge. My room was spacious, clean and beautiful. The staff were super friendly. And oh, there were free non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages of all sorts in the evenings. Overall, the facilities and services at this hotel were amazing, especially considering the price of accommodation. I’m definitely choosing this hotel whenever I’m in Kyoto.
I’m very critical of hotels but this one was truly excellent - I liked everything about the property.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Staff were very friendly and the hotel very comfortable. Nice touch to have free drink and nibbles in the evening. Really could not fault this hotel.

Location was excellent, the room was clean and the shower was probably the best shower of any hotel we've stayed in. We also enjoyed the complimentary happy hour.
The breakfast was woeful and we feel like we wasted our money getting it. It was so poor we ended up going out for breakfast every morning. Do not waste your money.
The hotel lists itself as 5 stars, but in reality its closer to 3 or a low end 4 star hotel by US standards. Your room is serviced every 3 days (!), very small and every time you want to use an iron/steamer, you have to call the front desk.
