About this house rental
Nestled in Iowa, this attractive house for $419 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Pet Friendly Wooded Retreat is only 5.5 miles to Downtown Galena and 3 miles to the GTA Owners Club. Our home is set on a beautiful wooded lot on a quiet cul de sac near Thunder Bay Falls just minutes from the GTA Owners Club and Lake Galena. We can sleep up to 10 guests, 9 in beds. There are 3 levels of comfortable living at Wooded Retreat! When you enter from the front porch you will notice how light and bright the home is. The living room features a cathedral ceiling and seats your group comfortably. The living room is open to the kitchen and dining room making it easy for your group to spend quality time together. Enjoy the flat screen with cable TV and the wood burning fireplace (we provide the wood)in our cozy family room. The dining room and kitchen are stocked with everything you will need to entertain your friends and family. There is direct access to the grill on the deck or the screened porch with seating for 6 (great spot year round). The home features a main level primary bedroom with king bed and adjoining bathroom with jetted tub. Head upstairs to the the private bedroom with ensuite bathroom and enjoy some solitude and a good night's rest. Our other sleeping arrangements are in the lower level where there are 2 additional bedrooms. One features a queen bed and the other has 3 twin beds for your group's singles or kiddos to enjoy. The home does have a high chair and pack & play for you to utilize - be sure to bring bedding! There is also the family room with a game table, air hockey game and tv. Don't forget this is where you access the NEW Outdoor Hot Tub! Outside you will also find our wood burning fire pit on the side of the home (we provide the firewood) and a beautiful wooded view to be enjoyed from the patio. You will have access to the GTA Owners Club while staying with us. The indoor pool is open year-round and the outdoor pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day. The club is an exclusive amenity that can be used by only Galena Territory property owners and their guests. The Owners' Club includes an indoor swimming pool, outdoor swimming pool w/slides, a kiddie pool, fitness room, game room, indoor/outdoor basketball courts, tennis courts, seasonal snack bar, free WiFi and outdoor playground. Don't forget to visit Lake Galena, The Shenandoah Riding Center and hiking trails throughout the 6,800-acre property. Disclaimer: You may not have enough cards for your entire group. Guest passes can be purchased for just $5 a day at the GTA admin office or pool entrance, staying with us grants you access, it may not be free. Please remember usage of the amenities is NEVER guaranteed. We do not discount or refund due their closure. Our cancellation policy is NOT flexible, we highly recommend travel insurance. Travel insurance is offered at the time of booking and up until 15 days before check in. The provider is CSA. When you book a home with us we will require 30% down, this is a payment not a deposit. The full balance is due 14 days before check in. If you cancel prior to the 14 days you will receive the first payment less a $35 cancellation fee. At the 14 day mark your stay will become non-refundable and dates cannot be adjusted. Your payments will automatically be processed to the card you place on file at the time of booking. Your rental agreement (sent after booking) will reflect the due dates and amounts. Please Note: You will be required to sign an electronic rental agreement at the time of booking, we ask this be signed and filed within 48 hours of receiving to guarantee your reservation. You must be 25 or older at the time of booking and present the entire stay. Check in details are sent 3 days prior to your arrival to the email on file. This includes the home's address, the access code and other pertinent home/area information. Early check in is never guaranteed and cannot be considered until the night before or morning of your arrival. The check in details will cover this process. **This home requires a 3 night stay from Memorial Day through Labor Day!!

Everything was as stated and perfectly suited to our 5 person family (2 parents, 3 teenagers). Beds, baths, kitchen, hot tub, games, tv, living room all as advertised. We were too tired from snowboarding all day to try out the poker table. Easy to get downtown Galena and on over to Chestnut Mountain, yet secluded enough for us to stand and stare at the Milky Way from the house at night with almost no light pollution to obscure the view.

We loved this rental. It's a short drive to downtown Galena, yet felt secluded because of all the trees in the backyard. The kitchen was supplied with anything you could possibly need and there was wood for the fire pit outside. The hot tub worked perfectly. My group of 5 had no complaints!

The property was ideal for this family outing. The Galena Territory has so much to offer and the property was within easy reach of the Galena historical, food and shopping experiences.

First impression, super cute, inside and out and super clean. Close to neighbors but the timber trees between the houses made us feel secluded. Quiet neighborhood. Loved the screened in porch and loved the hot tub. Fairly close to downtown. Really don’t have anything negative to say about our stay. Thank you!!

The house is well designed for a group of 3 couples with children. The automatic outdoor lighting in front was very helpful on the dark nights. Kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals from scratch. Screen porch is the biggest we’ve seen. As is the case with all 3 story houses, it is impossible to achieve constant temperature on each floor.

Overall I would recommend this property. Generally it was in great shape and clean. The best rooms were the living room, screened in porch, and kitchen area. Be careful not to lock yourself in the porch as we did. Thankfully one person wasn't in there or we would have been calling the security line to escape. My party consisted of 6 adults so we used all 6 beds. The twin beds were a bit uncomfortable to adults which may be more to do with our age versus the bed. My group thought all the mattresses were slightly uncomfortable, but again we are not spring chickens so to others they might be fine. The outlets were a bit of a mystery because some must be on switches. The air conditioner stopped working on the second day but they sent someone out to fix it at 11 pm once we realized it wasn't working. The kitchen was well equipped and bonus was a Keurig with k-cups. The living room was perfect for hanging out. The three bathrooms were nice for six women. Heads-up with the hot tub, it is really only ideal for 3 or 4 at a time, and they must have shocked it before we arrived. I would recommend taking the cover off for awhile before using it. The second day the chemicals were more tolerable. The positive is we knew it was clean, the negative is it was burning our eyes on the first night. It seemed like it was missing some cushions as well. We paid extra because there was a hot tub, so I had hoped we would have been able to use it more comfortably. Overall I thought this property was a great place to stay and I would recommend it with the precautions I have listed.

We had a great stay at this property with friends from college and our kids! The house was clean and had everything we needed. The screened in sunroom was really nice to hang out in at night when all the kids went to bed. The only thing I would say is that the upstairs bedroom gets VERY warm and the skylights/windows make it so you can’t really sleep in past sunrise… which also made it difficult for our 10 month old to go to bed before sundown. Otherwise we had no complaints!

First off, if I could give this rental 6 stars I would. They thought of everything you would need for a perfect stay. The kitchen was extremely stocked with everything you could think of. The hot tub was very large and hot. They also had towels for the hot tub (4) as well so you will not need any. The screened in porch was a great place to hang out and have dinner when it's warm outside. The fire pit was fantastic as well. All the furniture was very comfortable. The beds were excellent and had all the extra blankets if needed. I would definately stay there again if in town.

We rented a great home in Eagle Ridge and could not have been happier!It was a cousins/nieces get-a-way, and the home was set up perfect for together time. The screened in patio, the dining table and the living room all provided comfortable seating for hours of games and catching up.The staff we dealt with were kind and helpful and we would rent again should we ever be back in the Galena area. Also, the house is in an area where you have a great little store and deli, gas station, pools, owners club, etc... Very upscale experience!

We had a group of 8 stay at Wooded Retreat over the New Years weekend and the place worked out great for us. The four teens stayed in the 2 bedrooms in the basement and the adults in the master and upstairs bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and the layout was great. We played a lot of air hockey & cards on the poker table and spent some time in the hot tub. We’ve stayed at several places over the years in the Territory and we all felt that this was the best one for our group and would definitely stay there again. This was our second rental with Vacation Homes of Galena and they’ve been great to work with.

This beautiful home was perfect for an after holiday stay near Galena. The accommodations were perfect for our family. I was very impressed by all of the supplies that were provided in the kitchen. Everything I needed to bake, cook, and feed my family of nine. I think we could’ve had Guests over and still had plenty of dishes. Our family had a wonderful time! We especially enjoyed the fireplace with firewood provided. We also took advantage of the poker/game table every night. The house was big enough to sit together and enjoy one another, and large enough to escape from one another when we needed some space.

We had a wonderful time. The house was a pleasant surprise on our trip. We have been going on these trips for several years now, and this is one of the nicest places that we have stayed. It was extremely cozy, Clean, and welcoming. Several of the rooms are in the lower level, and we were concerned that we would be cold down there, but it was just as warm and welcoming as the rest of the house. There is also another small living room area down there, Which allows for different activities. We did not have any children but it would be wonderful for that as well.

Would caution anyone driving at night as the roads have lots of curves and hills on the narrow roads. Once you get off US20.

This house is absolutely beautiful, close to downtown! So much room, it was perfect our annual getaway of 7 ladies. The house was stocked w everything you will need and extra! The hot tub was all ready to go for us. I highly recommend 10/10!

We had a wonderful time. Spending time with family while we still had our own spaces to spread out was lovely. There was wood for a fire provided, and forks for marshmallow roasting - using the fire pit was one of our favorite memories from the trip. The kitchen had every tool we needed. We had a great time exploring Galena and this nice place to come back to and relax.
