Great location in the Hakone area. It’s walkable from the Hakone Yumoto station (about 15 minutes). We walked as we wanted to explore the Main Street and it’s a beautiful path to enjoy the surroundings with the river, and Mountain View’s.
Stayed in their Japanese style room and greatly enjoyed it. Weren’t sure with sleeping on futon mattress and we were surprised how comfortable they were (though it might not be for everyone).
The bathroom is a bit dated but clean.
Truly enjoyed the onset both the outdoor and indoor. It was great to get clear instructions on what was expected and the how to.
Staff were friendly and answered questions we had prior to our arrival. They were welcoming and provided local information but also about how the onset works.
They have a shuttle to get back to the station, which is convenient but need to let them
Know ( best to ask for the schedule).
We also requested for the kaiseki and traditional breakfast. It was delicious and an insightful experience of Japanese cuisine. It’s additional charge but was worth it as first time visitors to Japan.

The inn was very close to downtown and the setting next to the river was beautiful. The rooms were a great size and the onsens were fantastic.

Old building and facilities.
Poor breakfast: The breakfast was disappointing. It consisted of a fixed plate with only one option to choose from and very small portions. There was no fruit, cereal, or yogurt available. It really fell below expectations.

Authentic Japenese experience. Food in such an original format was a first time experience some unusual dishes for our Irish taste buds.
The breakfast was not to our westernised taste but service and atention to detail when serving was exceptional
