Incredible service from all the staff from the moment we entered, taking our suitcases and shoes, we got the half-board and it was incredibly worth it. It was abt 30min breakfast and 60min dinner of little beautiful, seasonal dishes, esp romantic as a couple I think (very filling). The public hotel onsen was also rlly nice, the outside section was magical esp in the dark (robes, socks & towels provided in the room). We went to the downstairs bar and tried the sake taster and the staff were so welcoming and attentive. The room was also rlly spacious and the outside view so romantic, the best value for money traditional onsen ryokan I think, everything combined it was so worth the price and a lot more affordable than others I’ve seen. Also super easy to leave luggage at the reception the day you’re checking out:)
The private onsen was a bit small, we expected to fit two people as it looks a bit spacious in pictures but it’s just like a normal bath for one. Otherwise no notes!

It was nice to stay in a traditional lodging with a private onsen. The staff was very gracious and helpful. The location was perfect to explore the Izu Peninsula.
The futon on tatami mats was less than ideal, but that is part of the experience!

Perfectly located within walking distance of Hakone Station and close to a variety of great restaurants, this hotel was an ideal base for our trip. I stayed for two days with my family, and we truly enjoyed our relaxing mountainside escape.
The hot springs were absolutely stunning, easily some of the most beautiful I’ve experienced, and having access to them every day made the stay feel extra special.
What stood out most was the staff. They were incredibly caring and attentive, offering helpful support both before and throughout our stay, which made everything feel seamless and welcoming.
A few aspects of the stay didn’t quite meet expectations. The private tub in our suite was quite small and not very inviting, especially compared to the beautiful public onsen. In hindsight, I wouldn’t splurge on this extra amenity again.
The bathroom also had a noticeable odor, which was a bit off-putting. Additionally, sleeping on the padded floor mattresses was a unique and traditional experience, but slightly uncomfortable for us.
