Great location, staff and volunteers. The 10 person mixed dormitory was great, felt comfortable and spacious. Happy hour with beer for a euro. Missed out on free sangria night :/ good group activities and great breakfast for €2. Made friends easily with everyone. Really can’t fault anything. Was sad to leave.

The social aspect was fantastic and the rooms were so nice and cool and quite and dark and the activities were great and everyone was super friendly.

The staff is great, and I believe this is one of the main reasons I like a property or not. They are young nice people who keep the hostel going. I saw guests of all ages, but it is mostly young adults. They have a lot of fun, but I would say it's not a party hostel. I was even able to work on a report while they were playing some sort of game, and it wasn't distracting.
The breakfast is great even for a vegetarian person like me, and it is very inexpensive.
The location is THE BEST. You are within a walking distance to anywhere in downtown Lisbon.
The facilities are very well kept and they are clean. It has AC, hot water... and the guests and staff are super friendly.
Thank you for your hospitality. You are one of the best hostels I've stayed in!

Location was fine
The hostel is run by volunteers who are great, and overall I had a good experience with them. However, I had one incident that was very frustrating and highlighted a lack of organisation.
When I checked in, I asked if I could have a bottom bunk, but none were available. The receptionist told me to come back first thing in the morning to see if I could move. The next morning, I checked and saw that two people were leaving, meaning two bottom bunks had become available.
I went to reception at 9:20am, but nobody was there. I rang the bell five times, and eventually the housekeeper came, but she wasn't able to help. I was going to be late for my walking tour, so I left a note with her to pass on to reception.
When I returned later, nothing had been done. The receptionist was also very unapologetic and told me that I should have rung the bell — despite the fact that I had rung it five times.
I found her tone incredibly frustrating, and at that point I asked for a refund and left. I had to book alternative accommodation at the last minute.
The incident was disappointing and, for me, highlighted a lack of structure and organisation. It also made me wonder what would happen if a guest needed assistance at reception at that time, or needed to check out.
The volunteers themselves were lovely, but this particular experience could have been handled much better.
