The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of options. As foreigners, we appreciated having croissants available, but we also really enjoyed the Korean breakfast selection. The hotel's location in the woods was beautiful and exactly what we had expected.
The rooms, however, are starting to feel a little dated. The biggest disappointment was the restaurant. It seems to be in need of a new chef, as both the restaurant and room service food were well below the standard we expected from a five-star hotel. Throughout our trip in Korea, we enjoyed delicious meals everywhere, from small street stalls even to tourist restaurants in Seoul, but this was the only place where the food was genuinely disappointing.

We chose WE Hotel Jeju for its promoted wellness priorities and location on the attractions on the south-western side of Jeju Island.
The entrance lobby is impressive with a large atrium, stylish staircase and escalators/elevators for ease. Parking was easy, the staff more than helpful and friendly and the room was very comfortable with an armchair and lounge to relax and look over the forest/city.
We enjoyed our meal at one of the restaurants in the hotel but didn't access any of the Wellness options. Maybe next time.
This hotel has the BEST indoor and outdoor pools we have ever experienced. Calm, clean and natural volcanic bedrock water is used according to the hotel literature (and it certainly felt like that). The waterfall for the outdoor pool is a beautiful feature as are the spa jet areas in the indoor pool. There is a specific shallow pool for children and there was always a staff member supervising the pool area for safety.
The most impressive, less promoted, hotel feature is the Garden walk with the Cedar Forest. It is a manicured park that we only accessed on our last morning. It is a walk that was peaceful, well marked and easily traversed with appropriate footwear. This is a wonderful amenity that I have never seen in any other resort or hotel. (Please note the alternative forest walk on the other side of the hotel is more natural/wild).

As with most accommodation on Jeju Island, you will need a car to access the hotel unless you are with an organised (bus), tour. There are no alternative options for meals within walking distance, but we knew this prior to booking and had a car. There is an unmanned convenience store with limited options for snacks on the first or second floor.

A truly restorative stay and we'll be back
We had a wonderful time at Ocean Suites Jeju. The room exceeded expectations, beautiful, well-appointed, and the panoramic views of the mountains, sea, and forest were exactly what we needed to reset and recharge.
The dining experience though a small menu was equally impressive. Breakfast offered a healthy, varied spread, and the team went above and beyond to accommodate one of our party's strict dietary requirements — something we genuinely appreciate and don't take for granted. A special thank you to the chef for the perfectly made omelettes with pepper, and to the manager for graciously handling our various requests throughout the stay.
Jeju Island itself is magical, and Ocean Suites made it even more so. We're already looking forward to returning — and to seeing the new additions when we do.
The one area with room for improvement was the communication around spa and wellness activities. Signage and printed materials were not available in English, which made it harder to fully explore and plan around what was on offer. An English version of the hotel pamphlets would go a long way — particularly for international guests. We wouldn't want visitors to miss out on what is clearly a thoughtful wellness offering simply due to a language barrier."

Beautiful cafe and nice premises, gardens are really nice.
The roof terrace wasn’t open as it was out of season (May) and we were looking forward to be able to look at the stars. There’s nothing to do in the evening here, you need taxis to even get to any restaurants.
You have to pay for the sauna even as a guest which was never stated so this was really disappointing. Treatments/activities are also not included and were very expensive. Doesn’t feel like a 5* hotel.
