Very friendly staff. Hotel in good conditions and well maintained. Nice place to rest and recover. Good breakfast, with several options. Indoor pool is a bit small (especially for a hotel with a lot of families/kids - Vila Gale are known for being a family oriented chain) but still a good experience. Nice sauna. Located very close to the valley that is a beautiful part of Portugal. Live up to my expectation.

All the staff were outstanding in helping with our trip to this marvelous location in such a serene area of Portugal. My only regret is we did not arrange to stay in the hotel longer. Super help from our server for supper. John our server not only made our evening feel very special but he also made some wonderful suggestions for the rest of our trip including somewhere to find some cheese that we enjoyed with our supper. We both found the cod main course splendid. Your staff made this short stay for us feeling relaxed and ready to continue our journey.

It had a parking garage (but we had to pay for it) and the room was comfortable once we got another key to keep the power on! Until then, the room was so cold. The hotel staff were very helpful and nice. The breakfast buffet was good. The girl that made the eggs was very sweet and made a great omelette.
We had no idea that dinner meals were buffet only - a total waste for us as we are not big eaters. This should have been on the hotel description. Payment was required up front (very expensive!) - no other option for dinner. The food was just okay. Didn’t realize it was a family situation with dozens of kids running around and screaming all day. One boy even rode a scooter throughout the hotel - even in the dining room. So annoying! To use the pool you had to wear a bathing cap. Seriously? I think there are worse things people put into a pool than head hair (think pee and poop). I know there are not a lot of options in the mountains but it felt like a rip off because you are a captive audience.
