Hotel Tikal Inn

Hotel Tikal Inn was a wonderful place to stay and explore Tikal! It was super convenient to be situated in the park, and cool to hang around the grounds of the Inn and listen to the sounds of the jungle. The host was extremely communicative and flexible, and helped me book transport to and from Flores airport. Room was spacious and clean, and the pool and restaurant amenities made for a very comfortable stay. All staff were pleasant and helpful. I booked the sunrise guided tour of Tikal and guide Jessica was fabulous. Her depth of knowledge of and passion for the history of Tikal and Mayan civilization blew me away. Thank you Jessica! Would 100% recommend Hotel Tikal Inn.

I didn’t know this ahead of time but electricity only works at certain times which means there is no fan at night.

Reasonably priced for being actually at Tikal. Bungalows were comfortable and very clean. Great pool, which is a welcome relief from the heat! Hotel can arrange shuttle from Flores airport etc. Restaurant had wide range of food on offer esp considering location and reasonably priced. Great to stay at Tikal if want to do sunrise/sunset tours. Guide, Jessica, organised via hotel was excellent (English & Spanish)

Value for money - amazing location. Pool was an absolute delight.

The waiter serving meals was particularly grumpy. All other staff were lovely and very helpful. The beat at night in the room without a fan or air con was very uncomfortable. Fans went off at 9pm And the room was stifling.

I needed to leave a review on this location. The location is wonderful, inside Tikal Park. Everyone was kind and helpful. My biggest negative was that we booked a sunrise tour with our 4 kids. They asked us to be at the front desk by 3:45 am. We have two 5 year olds that were troopers and we all were up and ready at the appointed time. We sat and waited, and waited. Our Spanish is limited but they verified that the guide was on their way. At around 4:45 one of the hotel staff finally came and drove us to the entrance of the park. With my limited Spanish I overheard that they arranged with a guide going in to take us in their group. We were the last group going in and as such, the guide was booking it through the forest to make it to the location on time. Our poor little 5 year olds were basically running/speed walking the whole way, which wasn't a short distance. They were unhappy and we arrived last with limited seating at the ruins. I was very bugged because we could have had a leisurely walk through the forest if we actually had been given the guide we paid for. The sunrise tour was amazing, and the tour guide that we ended up with was fantastic, but the experience getting there was quite frustrating. If my Spanish had been better, I would have asked for a refund for the tour, or a partial refund, as their mistake made part of the tour quite unpleasant. So I am leaving a review here, just as a beware. I'm not sure what we could have done differently. We verified the tour upon arrival the day previous, and I'm not sure if they had a tour guide that just didn't show up or if they forgot to schedule one.
