The hotel was exceptionally nice and very spacious. The tatami mat area was a lovely addition. Amenities were good - little coffee machine provided. We were able to borrow umbrellas when it was raining.
Location is a little far out from the Main Street of Gion, about 10-15min walk. There isn’t much choice for food close by, although about 3mins to the closest metro line. It would have been nice for some towel hooks in the room as nowhere really to hang them up to dry; and there is only one washing machine for the hotel.

We went budget and was happy with what we got. It was a nice little place nestled in the streets of Kyoto. Very local. Homes and small shops around it. 15 minute walk to the main Kyoto town/pontocho area. Staff very helpful.
Air conditioning kept dropping out.

Reception staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room was spacious and it was great that there was a separator between the bedroom and bathroom areas. Drinking water and ice were available along with comic books. The location was super! Made our stay in Kyoto special as we were in Gion and near the canal.
