Sleeps 2 A romantic hideaway made just for two awaits you in the Lovers Point area of Pacific Grove, just steps from the beach and the Monterey Bay Recreation Trail, and within easy walking distance of downtown dining and shopping. Watch twinkling lights on the bay in the evening from this upper story loft, or during the day, view waves, whales and fishing boats on the water. This 1-bedroom, 1-bath home is a perfect place to enjoy the best of the Monterey Peninsula, since it’s conveniently located near some of the region’s prime attractions, including the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the Monarch Sanctuary, and Asilomar. Stunning views from the edge of the bay are available from the nearby rec trail, which links Pacific Grove with Monterey, Seaside and Marina, for those who want to bike or walk around the area. Downtown Monterey and Cannery Row are just a few minutes away by car, and it’s just a 10-minute drive to a variety of other attractions, such as quaint Carmel-by-the-Sea or world-class golf and sightseeing in Pebble Beach®. Wine tasting and shopping are just 20 minutes away in Carmel Valley, and the natural wonders of Big Sur are about 40 minutes away. Living Space The 450-square-foot apartment with comfortable, eclectic beach decor offers views from the living room through large picture windows that face the bay. You also have access to a small fenced patio at the back that allows a warm, private spot in the sunshine where you can enjoy lunch al fresco or a glass of wine in the evenings, with room to stow beach gear or bicycles as needed. Guests enter through a gate that takes them down a brick pathway to the back door. The entryway up a flight of stairs opens into a cozy living space that blends living room, kitchen and dining area. Easy-care hardwood-look flooring, a comfortable couch and club chair, a 30-inch HDTV and a wooden table for two can be found here, as well as original beach and nautical artwork that perfectly captures the bay-side mood. Décor in soothing tones of sand, driftwood, aqua and blue further enhance the relaxed ambiance, and large picture windows look out toward the bay, providing views day or night. Kitchen and Dining The compact kitchen contains everything you need for meal prep, with an electric stove, deep stainless sink with pull-out faucet and microwave. Please note there is no dishwasher. A small table perfect for two is immediately next to the kitchen. Bedroom and Bathroom The bedroom features a queen bed with metal headboard and quality bedding in tones of aqua, sand and gray. The en suite bath features stone tile, a vanity with granite countertop, a shell-framed mirror, and a shower-over-tub combination with a glass door. In back of the apartment, the small patio features a metal bistro table with seating for four, inside a fenced private courtyard. A washer and dryer are available in the downstairs entryway. There is one dedicated parking space directly in front of the apartment, and more parking is available on adjacent Ocean View Boulevard. What a great place. Perfect for two. 100 steps to the ocean. Nice view. Access to amazing walking paths. Watching the sun rise every morning. Easy walk or short drive to watch the sun set. We had an amazing time and will stay again. The staff at Sanctuary truly seem to love what they do. Great check in and check out directions (not always easy) and easy access to the rental. We would not change a thing.

I would suggest shutters, blinds, or drapes for privacy since the loft is completely exposed to outside viewing. This would give it a five-star rating and the investment would be worth it for repeat customers and others they recommend.

My boyfriend and I stayed for 4 nights. Lovely loft in an amazing location. The wine, cheese and crackers was a very kind touch. Having washer and dryer access was great as well.

My spouse and I loved our stay at the Mermaid Loft where we celebrated our anniversary. It is small but very functional and only steps away from the ocean and a short walk to downtown Pacific Grove. I would definitely recommend staying here (unless you are trying to book it during the same time we want to visit again).

The description is accurate. Check in is simple and easy. This place is clean, cozy and quiet. The views of the ocean without being on the busy main road are beautiful. It's a half block, if that, to the trail that borders the entire stretch of Oceanview Road. You can choose to walk the entire trail, part of it or just sit on a bench and enjoy the sites and sounds of Monterey Bay. The place is centrally located and you can easily walk south to the lighthouse from the rental or walk north where you can get ice cream or a nice dinner.
Sanctuary Vacation management personnel were extremely attentive to our needs and checked in on us via text, email and one phone call. They truly wanted our experience to be a good one and they achieved it!
The only thing I would say that would have given this place 5 stars would be a new mattress for the bed or perhaps a memory foam topper.
All in all, we would stay here again.

The location was perfect for what I wanted to do this weekend. It was great to have a designated parking space for my car. The house was quaintly quirky and quieter than I thought it would be given close proximity to the main road along the ocean. The view of the ocean was an added bonus and it was great to be able to see the ocean from the main area. My only challenge was finding the sweet spot in the old heaters thermostats. Plenty of blankets available to make it cozy. Enjoyed my time thoroughly.

We really liked the location which is a very short walk to the ocean trail. There were a few things that could be improved, but overall I would probably return. Probably best for a weekend stay. The kitchen is not meant for meals in house! The stove is old electric with coils that are off kilter. There’s very few kitchen tools, but plenty of serrated knives! Obviously the kitchen is tiny.

Loved it!
This was absolutely perfect for my anniversary trip. Ocean views, close to a wonderful restaurant, and right near a walking trail. I also loved that there were black out blinds in the bedroom! The parking spot in the front was great. I would definitely recommend this place!

Incorrect check in code, otherwise nice stay
They gave me the wrong lockbox code. I did not appreciate being locked out in the dark/cold when I arrived. I was able to get it sorted out with the after hours number, was glad they had that set up.
They sent so many pointless emails and phone calls but then messed up the one important thing.
Otherwise the place was nice and as advertised.

Pros:
- Location: 1 block from the water and a few mins walk to Lovers Point. We walked the 1.5 miles along the path to Cannery Row and it was gorgeous the whole way! A 3 min drive to the heart of Pacific Grove and Carmel is only 15 mins.
- Sanctuary was easy to work with and checked in via text and phone, which was really nice. They were quite responsive with questions.
- Having the small kitchen was nice to store food in the fridge and they provide coffee/tea for the mornings. We didn't cook in the kitchen but it looked pretty well stocked.
-Parking out front is convenient and easy (if you only have 1 room for more than that.)
Cons (not much!):
- The mattress REALLY needs to be replaced. It's not supportive at all and folds in on itself. We called it the Taco Bed. As much as we loved the location and rest of the loft, I wouldn't stay here again without a new mattress.
- The lighting in the bedroom could be changed out. The sconce on the wall is much too bright/blue-colored for the evenings but the lamps are more like nightlights and you can't read by them.
- Be careful with both the blinds and the closet doors in the bedroom. Both are easy to get off track. Should be an easy fix and I mentioned it on the checkout forms so hopefully those are fixed up.
- While the washer/dryer is nice to have, there isn't any detergent, FYI.

I booked this property for some alone time and it did not disappoint. It was comfortable, had all of the amenities I needed and it was right across the street from the beautiful beach trail. Having a designated parking was also nice to be able to walk down to the restaurants at Lover's Point and all around. I will definitely be staying again!
