Great location,being going to the pub for 47years bedrooms are a bit small, but the food is adequate not like the old days 🤣but staff and food were like the modern times adequate but not special. 😇

The accommodation is actually well presented and rooms with terraces are great as these look out to a lovely view across the fields and the rolling hills. The staff are warm and welcoming. And they take great pains to ensure guests are well looked after. The restaurant has reasonable and tasty offerings.
Unfortunately, due to the warm weather, we shared our room with the terrace with many (seed/carpet beetles). Though not threatening to humans, it can be off-putting when there appeared to be an infestation…crawling up walls, on beds, in bathrooms, onto bathroom towels, towards the area where clothes are hung (as there are no closed cupboards) and into any luggage/bags placed on the floor. The hotel moved us to a first floor accommodation above the pub for the second night. These beetles were also found in the second room but fortunately in smaller numbers. However. this room was next to the kitchen extractor vent which is quite noisy (though it goes off when all is done for the night. But starts in time to herald breakfast). So not an ideal experience. Credit to the staff who recognised the inconvenience and refunded the cost of the second night. Our rating would have been higher save for two things: first - The complimentary teacups in the 1st room were unwashed. Second - flies were seen on the breakfast buffet table where pastries, juices , bread were laid in the morning. Whilst the pastries had food covers; on the second morning, the bread had not. And the plates proved to be popular landing spots for the insects. So we did not take anything from the breakfast buffet on account of the flies. This can be so easily fixed by commonly found battery operated table top devices that are designed to keep flies away.
