Great location. Not a lot of hiking or walking around property. Awesome room and view of Lake Cuyamaca.
Food needs help. Basic burger for $21 plus weak breakfast. They need a real chef.

Pretty location
Too much light in our room and outside at night. Noisy people after 9 in hot tub. Shower was super weak. Meal delivery was strange.

They took such care in every detail of this resort - and they maintain it beautifully. It seems to have originally been a lake hotel but now it is really a comfortable oasis. If you want to meditate, that's fine. if you want to hike, that's fine too. The decorations are Asian eclectic, and that's also just fine. The library is actually very good as well.
The staff were always very helpful. The beds were comfortable and our room had a beautiful view of Lake Cucamaya.
We only spent a night but we would like to come back here for several days and just enjoy ourselves.
It's pretty close to Julian and an easy drive to loop around the Sunrise Highway.

It’s beautiful if you want to watch stars. We were fortunate to catch the blood moon eclipse.
It’s pretty rustic so if you have any disabilities, that’s a tough one. It’s not that quiet if the people in the Jacuzzi are talking really loud and there’s a highway right below where cars are zipping by. Unfortunately the gym smelled like something very horrible and we tried to use the gym but got really nauseous. I had a towel with a big hole in it. The steam shower leaked all over the floor. It just falls in between that beautiful resort Retreat feeling and a motel.
